    knobby tires in the FRONT, semi-slick in the BACK if you want to mix the tires (which is a good idea in general). but badlands calls for a full set of knobbies imo.

      @mikemono  2 года назад +2

      Yeah at the end I did go for the knobbies (profile). Overall most of the riders had semi slick tires

    Congrats on such a strong finish - Amazing. How did it play out for your chain? After a dusty 150 to 200 km my waxed chains are pretty tired. With your finishing time, I assume you had no chance to use drip wax and let it "take" while you were sleeping. How did you make your math work out (obviously it did, based on your time!!) ??

      Hey Mike! Thanks a lot! I dont think the chain did the work. I had less time to prepare due to my full time job but I did some key training sessions that turned out pretty well.
      Anyway, I took away all the industrial grease of the chain with a break cleaner. After that I put the chain in a parafin bath. This made the chain more resistant against dirt. I thought that this was enoguh but during the ride I used some squirtx every time I stopped to refill. So I applied some fluid wax 3 to 5 times during the race. I think its difficult to ride this race without any lube or wax with you just because there is sand everywhere.
      Hope this helps

      @@mikemono Thanks a bunch - Makes sense, glad you were able to add the Squirt drip wax and keep rolling. Again, well done.👍

    Hey Mike, nice videos - keep up the good work! Would you run the Tailfin again or go with a different solution (weight/stability etc)?

    • @mikemono
      @mikemono  Год назад

      It’s definitely the best in terms of stability - what is in my opinion the most important thing . Maybe I would not go next time with it because I would like to save the weight to be faster. If you take it not toooooo serious I would go for it . At least I was able to take place 10 with it . If you are interested I have a promo code MONO20 for a discount

    Is it true that they have a weird axle width of 125 front and 165 rear?
    Or is the advertisement online wrong and its actually 100 front and 142 rear?
    Thanks

    Sehr interessantes Video!
    Wollte erst anmerken evtl ist eine mechanische Schaltung besser für sowas aber die hydraulische Bremse hat ja auch versagt. Wie viel Batterie hattest du noch übrig für die Schaltung oder hast du da zwei Batterien mitgenommen?
    Musstest du für die Leonardi Capo Ritzel noch was einstellen oder adjustieren oder klappte das alles auf anhieb? Wäre ja eine perfekte alternative wenn man kleinere Gänge braucht.
    Ist diese Schräglage beim Lenker nach vorne so gewollt?

    • @mikemono
      @mikemono  2 года назад +1

      Hey John, mit der mechanischen Schlatung hast du das Problem dass der Dreck immer seinen Weg findet und die Schaltperformance darunter leidet. Bei der elektro ist das immer gleich. Ich hatte tatsächlich 2 batterien dabei! Die waren auch nötig... sogar nur mit 1x
      Bei dem Leonardi Ritzel musst du daran denken einen Spacer hinten dran machen weil das Ritzel für XD ist und XDR Freiläufe etwas länger sind. Als ich den Spacer dahinter gemacht habe hat es perfekt gepasst.
      Was meinst du mit dem nach vorne? Das der Vorbau etwas geneigt ist? Also ich muss sagen, es sieht vielleicht etwas komisch aus aber das ist der beste Lenker den ich je gefahren bin!!!

      @johnschmitt3083 2 года назад

      @@mikemono Genau bei 15:56 sieht es so aus als ob der Lenker nicht waagerecht sondern eine leichte Senkung nach unten hat.
      Wie war das nach so viele Stunden im Sattel vom Komfort her, was hat sich als erstes gemeldet vom Körper? Würdest du dir jetzt etwas mehr Komfort geben und gegen Aero eintauschen.
