What happens when you put 3 introverts in a room and have one of them interview the other 2
so truee
great quiet energy
Richard Ayoade seems to take every opportunity to mock interviews. I love it.
+Yimello It's his type of humor. You'll see it in almost everything he does indeed!
I love how Richard beams at Jessie at various moments like a proud father
I love that two such confident and brilliant guys like Richard and Jesse can still be so humble and awkward!
Richard's bit about Robert Redford while at Sundance with Jesse beside him laughing uncontrollably is just so priceless. Too too funny!
Jesse is so sweet. I feel like he's still just the same character he plays in the movie.
Richard is such an enjoyably naughtly boy with interviewers.
Two of my favourite people making movies today. Really looking forward to watching The Double :)
It was great. DId you catch it yet?
Unfortunately not, it wasn't on in my local cinema. Not too much longer for the home release though. I'll probably have to wait til then to see it.
I watched it on VOD with some mates of mine.
Never thought of that lol. Think I know what I'll be watching tonight.
It was really cool. The sound aesthetic and editing reminded me of Eraserhead. That cold, distant, post social structure type world building. And keep your eyes out for the brilliantly campy sci-fi show that Jesse's character enjoys watching in the film. Let me know what you think of it, cheers.
I love when people are are made uncomfortable by introverts.
They're like a different species. The other ones, the weird ones - not the introverts.
Pardon Me ikrrr
Richard Ayoade drives in and out of responding to questions seriously and with delicious silliness.
So much curly awkwardness
And we all love it.
Jesse did a great job as Simon and James at the same time, so impressed
I don't get why people find this a confusing interview. It was so very clear to me. Maybe because I am a Huge fan of both Richard and Jesse and I have the same type of humor, or it's just because I listen.
If you don't get the jokes, just watch some more of Richard Ayoade (on gameshows etc) and hopefully you'll get to understand this gem of a guy!

Loved The Double, think these two worked v well together
***** Don't think it's on where I'm from still, may be elsewhere though - Google will probably know best!
I love him so much. He brings me joy with his exquisite intellect.
They are both deliciously sweet, charming, and awkward. So incredible.
Some of these comments are just ignorant. Its like nobody can understand unless you speak to them in cliche statements. and putting actual thought into an answer is considered awkward or confusing.
jesse and richard? my life is complete
It's Moss and that guy from Zombie Land!
Film critics should simply watch the film they wish to review without desperately searching for chances do name-drop more well known/commercially viable titles like Terry Gilliam. Ayoade's excellent sarcasm in this interview wouldn't be needed if the reviewer could simply give the credit/blame for the movie to the actual director.
Richard can run circles sround any one.,ans the just keep going.
i need a compilation of jesse biting his lip when richard ayoade is being a silly little guy
The director is gadget man
I get Richard because me and him are very similar in our personalities.
+Yonas Campbell that sounds exactly something he would say.....
steven cross Hahaha yeah
Jesse just staring at his shoes...
Dean Learner has come a long way.
If I had a penny every time Jesse said "kind of" I'd be a millionaire
Or you know
He says so many hilarious things and then there's no laughter. Poor Richard, stuck with fools who don't get your humour.
lyadmilo Jesse loves Richard's humor. It's just one interview. He's well loved.
I feel like he's used to it...
I loved the movie but its weird but I enjoyed it... It was interesting and funny I WAS SO INTO THE MOVIE AND IM A BIG FAN OF Jesse isigenberg
So big a fan you can't even spell his name right.
+Simon Saint-Gilles I'm almost certain you mean to say Lysdexia.
Jesse Isengard
wait is this the guy in the gadget show?
Yes!
Did this film do well?? Shame Richard ain't directing more stuff!!
I think i know less now than after watching the film
Enjoyed the movie
"One day we'll [Donald Trump] find something to work together on" -- Meanwhile, in 2017... Ahahahahaha

not at all awkward
i love these dilfs
Jesse Eisenberg reminds me of a young woody Alan
He actually reminds me of Kevin Spacey more than anyone.
Love the Donald Trump reference
Also why are studios giving him the green light to make movies I wonder...lol
I think you need better editors. I love Ayoade and Eisenstein but they're both very awkward and a lot of this could have been cut out and tidied up a bit.
They pretending to be like this .
Watch the movie and you will get it.
Why does Jesse speak so little?
Tanvi Jain
He really dislikes doing promo.
How many times people say two sentences in a row that mean the same thing but is put in other words? :P
every psalm - it's a Hebrew poetical thing
Jessie is infatuated with Richard?
The future Lex Luthor. I'm a little worried.
Should be fine. I heard Jesse uses a special "technique" to basically embody a "character"..it's called "acting"
that's some pretty out-there shit though. you should probably google that
Trevor Slake Do you understand the concept of time? I made this comment almost 1 year ago, before they even started filming. To date, most of the roles Jesse Eisenberg has played are socially awkward, fast talking introverts, with the exception of Now You See Me. The socially awkward introvert is something that Eisenberg plays well but that's not what you typically think of when it comes to Lex Luthor. Now, since I made this initial comment, almost a year ago, the trailer for the film was released. It's now clearly obvious that they've altered the character of Lex Luthor to suit Eisenberg. He looks much younger and Lex Corp is a "Dot-com or Google type of workplace" somewhat similar to a past role Eisenberg had. Still to this day (August 23 2015) I still don't know how I feel about him as Lex Luthor and I'll save my judgement until I see the film.
I think he was amazing as Lex Luthor. Not introverted, funny and of course evil af
Throughout this whole thing I was confused
Awkward
oooooh they sooooo clever arnt they SHUT UP
Jesse Eisenberg is not worth paying to act.
oh come on, American Ultra? pure gold.
