Extracurricular activities isn't the solution. Instilling respect in them for other peoples property is.

AT LEAST, the parents paid to fix it! I'd guess, after that, the kids are getting coal in their stockings! Merry Christmas!

The place has that small town look to it so damages probably ran a total of $60. It's when you go to the bigger cities where damages begin climbing into the millions.

But that was way back in the early 80s now I'm going on my 50s. What is fun seeing the kids doing I used to do when I was a kid they're just growing up in my shoes. And when one kid stops the other kid takes over in life. And there'll be another generation of kids that will do the same in the future. Merry Christmas to all and to all praise Jesus Christ our Lord and savior

You're probably their dad. Don't make light of them vandalizing the light display.

And this is why we hold parents responsible, because people like you teach their children that this is okay.

He's not making it light, he's stating the old line of....kids will be kids.
No excuses though, yes it's an explanation but not in Amy way a solution.
Instill respect in the children, make them understand that respect goes a long way in life.
