    I had an amazing family doctor like you up until my mid 20’s. His little office was in the bottom of his split level home and he had no secretary and answered his own phone and didn’t take insurance either. Office visits were like $10 and if you couldn’t pay it never affected your care and you just went into a ledger he kept. You could hear his wife and kids upstairs and he did everything from stitches to minor surgery to drawing his own labs. I even passed a kidney stone on the floor of his office and he gave me a shot then and there of Demerol lol. Watching your videos and demeanor make me miss Dr Perotto. He’s 85 now and still takes care of his grand and great grandkids and renews his license!

    Dr Paul, I have to tell you that I have had 3 drs retire on me, 2 dentists retire on me. I sorta dont feel comfortable with drs at this point in my life. If I need to go to a dr, at this point you would be the toss up of #1 between you and the last dr at the clinic I went to as a kid and had all three retire from. I think I have watched enough of your videos to form an informed opinion on this. But thank God, my immune system is strong and I have not been sick in many years. Thank you for putting these videos out!

So many dr's have terrible bedside manner and make a patient feel like they are crazy.

    • @mygirldarby
      @mygirldarby 2 года назад +3

      It's so true!! I had no idea so I couldn't understand why my mom (who had dementia) kept saying she couldn't "go," even though she was having diarrhea. My mom had aphasia (problems communicating verbally) so it was very difficult to understand what she was saying and feeling. We took her to the ER and she told them she had bad pain from diarrhea so they gave her Imodium which was the worst thing they could've done. Her discomfort got worse and worse and in desperation I searched Google for diarrhea constipation and it came up with "fecal impaction." I knew immediately that that's what she had and that she was in danger. We rushed her back up to the ER and I asked them to please check for that. They took an x ray and sure enough that was the problem. We got it just in time because it would have burst soon. It's so scary and most people don't know about this.

    Some years back our family physician cleaned my sons ears, he flushed with warm water and afterwards he flushed with alcohol.
    He said the alcohol would help dry up the water and helps to prevent a ear infection from the water.
    Just wondering what your thoughts are on that?

    • @AmyAndThePup
      @AmyAndThePup 2 года назад

      I'm no doctor, but I've never heard of that. to me it sounds dubious.
      My ENT put boric acid, in power form, in my ears to help dry things--only a little of this stuff, mind you--but that's all I've ever heard that people use. I've been in and out of ENT clinics since I was little. When I was young they would just get the wax out and not put anything in, and they scraped it, there was no flushing with water.

      I think I’ll stick with the alcohol to dry up the water. 😯

    • @mygirldarby
      @mygirldarby 2 года назад +2

      That's also what I do and it is not dangerous. Alcohol is sold OTC in products made to prevent "Swimmer's ear." It's just isopropyl alcohol and it is cheaper to buy a bottle of that. I have irrigated my ears in the shower for many years and I usually put a drop or two of alcohol in each ear afterwards and yes it does dry up any excess water. Before doing it this way I had chronic problems with excess earwax. One day I realized that those ear irrigators you can buy are just like the spray from my shower, and I've cleaned my ears that way ever since. I've never had a single issue with it and best of all, no more excess earwax. I told my doctor about my routine and he said that it's what he does too! He said not to do it if I have an earache or a full feeling in my ear, but otherwise it's the easiest most effective way to clean your ears.

    • @mygirldarby
      @mygirldarby 2 года назад

      @@tammypetruzzi9367 that's what she said...that the doctor used it to dry up any water left in the ear canal. I guess "flushing" with alcohol is a bit much. Just a drop or two works fine. It is also good to do that after swimming.

      @@lf206 - it's a scientific fact that the masks do nothing. The virus is smaller than the microscopic holes in the mask. Plus there are gaps around the side of the mask. It's amazing to me how people can't even use common sense, let alone the scientific facts. You're being brainwashed. This was all covered in elementary school.

      That's the way they always look. They make a tiny perforation in the eardrum and place a small tube into it to allow excess fluid to drain.
