Thank you so much dude, had to load my bike at 6am in the morning last weekend with no ramp and this helped a ton. But definitely harder to do when you’re a buck fifty and have a lifted truck 😂
Aside from making it look easy, dude you are strong as hell ! lol. New rider, no experience whatsoever w/ loading a bike so...can't say I'm ready for this process / method lol. Thanks for the video tho !!! Will add it to the memory in a time of need.
I'm 5' 11", 120 lbs and I definitely can't lift my wr250r (300 lbs ish) into a truck bed. I actually knocked it over in my garage trying to pick up the front end. I barely got it off the ground before basically tackling the bike through my workbench. I wish it was on video. It probably looked hilarious.
I'm 5'10" 210 lbs and 54 yrs. Had shoulder, right middle finger and thumb surgery on 4/30/19. Just used this method to transport Husky te300i to a garage for storage. It's not easy but just go slow and USE YOUR LEGS. It you try and cowboy it your fucked. Good Luck
i have ramps, and yea, its a process, unfold them, strap them to hitch so they dont slide, slowly guide bike down, unstrap ramps, fold up, store in back of truck and need to lock up while riding. is it difficult? no, but this method i fine easier, quicker, and just less equipment. especially if you just go a slight decline. he could have reduced the height of this entire process by the looks of it by just moving his truck a few inches forward too.
I used the same method on my RMZ450 when I first brought it home with no problems, and I’m only 5’7 @ 150lbs 🤷🏼♂️ Granted, my Hitch Mounted Carrier is MUCH easier for loading/unloading but, it’s nice to know that if I HAVE to use the “Solo with no ramp” method I can without issue 👍🏻
I do this but instead of loading in the center of the bed, do it near the side so I can walk it in once it’s in the truck. I have tie-downs ready in bed and hook one to the handlebar and lean the bike away. Then I get in the bed, center the bike and secure it with both tie-downs.
I weigh 150 and I got a yz450f steel frame barley have arms.. trying to do the first part getting the front tire up lmao I can almost do it ,just need to lift it a couple more inches , Edit I got bike on by myself , getting the front tire up is the easy part JS lmao and when you have a lifted truck on top of it. It kinda sucks , but oh well
For those commenting about they can't do this coz they're weak or something, u probably shouldn't even own a dirtbike in the first place. (No offense, but its for your own good). Trust me on this, u gotta be at least strong to own a dirtbike. My cousin is 5'7 and weighs 120-125 lbs, owns a 250cc dirtbike, there's a time wherein he took the wrong dirt turn on a berm and he had fallen off his bike, he couldn't stand up after the bike has fallen over his left leg and needed my help just to stand the bike up. He's ok for the most part but he got bruises on his thighs and surprisingly, no broken bones coz I guess nothing hit his leg coz the handlebar was in the way except that his own bike was just heavy probably weighing around 150 kgs which is literally 3 times his own weight. If ur weak, better just get a mountain bike.
@@tarbosa5071 if ur trying to diss me about not being in a mtb park, guess again buddy. I am an mtb enduro guy. Also, wtf is the connection between being that you should be more than enough physically able to handle a dirtbike and going to an mtb park? Tf is ur point?

I am a new rider, so new I havent even rode the bike I purchased yet. I have the same truck and bought a WR250r today. The owner had a ramp and when I got it home I watched this video a few times and than attempted it. It not only tore the top of the tailgate up on my truck but the bike turned while pulling off the tailgate and landed on my leg, busted up my elbow falling backwards, my knee has a big scrape and big bruise I have a huge bump sticking out if my shin and Im pretty sure my ankle is broken. In fact I drove myself to the ER early but didn’t get the Xrays because they were short staff and the wait (In ER) would have been over an hour. I am self treating it for tonight and it hurts. yeah, that bike is too heavy for this, not to mention unloading it like this would not work due to short suspension travel. This technique is good for lighter dual sports or enduro bikes.
Looks to me using a ramp is a multi-process time consuming pain in the ass compared to this method. I'll probably ditch my ramp if this method is as easy as it looks.
Ramps can be easily stolen, while you're out riding. It's a useful thing to know imo. Also unloading looks easier than using ramps, no heavy lifting required. I may use this method to unload all the time even with ramps.

Just takes coordination and practice. You just gotta pull it up to the truck and give it a try you’ll figure it out

Can be done easily on Smaller Dirt bikes but not so easy with the Big Boys you need two people to be Safe till you feel you can do it Yourself.

It helps that you're a big dude. Good tutorial.
Never seen anyone do this alone . I have done with 2 people and I got to say this is dope and I will try on my 450.
Now I know why the rear shock linkage hangs down below the swing arm. It hooks onto the tailgate when you’re loading without ramps.
This was what i was looking for thanks you're great mind...

6ft is obviously better, but I believe he's doing it on a 5.5ft bed. Both will work.
