I bought an SK 3 last December from a UK dealer. It was moved over 200 miles to get to my home, and a couple of weeks ago, I asked my tuner to give it a check. She played in for a few minutes and just said there's nothing I can do. That's how well set up these pianos are. Despite the move and settling in, it sounds fabulous. The story of the piano teacher with tears is spot on. These pianos are life changing, suddenly you join the big league. The action is sublime and the tone is gorgeous. Sometimes when I hit a final chord I just linger over the sound that just brings me out in goosebumps. I finished a piece for my teacher with a simple low octave and he just stopped and said - Pianos shouldn't sound that good, - but this one does. And if anyone is interested I have no connection with Kawai but the SKs are simply the best.
