  • @SilverShadow2LWB
    @SilverShadow2LWB 2 года назад +5

    Nice video, thanks a lot for including some mistakes. I ordered my oven on eBay because of this video. Got my for $85. I want to tell you one thing, you have your pellet grill upside down inside of the pellet burning drawer. When looking at the closed tray, one should not see pellets. That is to provide air circulation to the pellet bed. I have since converted my to propane gas and it will reach temperatures of over 1000 degrees. The burner assembly just slides into the ash tray, so NO cutting or modifications are needed to oven. I can preheat my oven in about 15 to 20 minutes to a stone surface temperature of about 850 degrees when the setting is on low. Sure beats all the ash and clean-up. I get to spend more time with friends and guests instead of maintaining a pellet fire. I really don't taste the difference in the pizza for the wood smoke only touches the pizza for 90 to 120 seconds, much too short to infuse a deep smoke flavor. This is a great pizza oven. Unlike Ooni and Roccbox, the heat and fire are ducted up and over the pizza so that a fire shield which some people add is not required to keep the pizza from burning at the hot end of the oven. Thanks again for this video.

    • @rmwtsou
      @rmwtsou  2 года назад +1

      Ha ha. Thanks! I will check out my pellet grill next time I fire it up. Will also check out the propane setup. Where did you get it? Thanks for your comment!

      Was it easy to convert it to propane?

    • @SilverShadow2LWB
      @SilverShadow2LWB 2 года назад +1

      @@Ladunn8 I got a 65,000 btu propane burner on Amazon along with the regulator. The mounting plate was fashioned out of 20 gauge stainless steel sheet metal and exactly replaces the ash tray. A diverter flame plate was inserted into the pellet tray opening to divert the gas flame into the fire duct and not up the pellet tube. Does not alter the oven and can be converted easily back to pellets. Works very well and gets hotter than my brother's Ooni Karu. I like that it is so hot that I don't have to cook with the front door on.
