I used to stare at Martin tower through the window in my geometry class, it was so weird to go in and stare out that window only for the tower to be gone
That building would be a gem in downtown Camden. Why did they tear it down? It was nice enough that it could of been renovated and repurposed for housing. Instead people demolish it and will destroy more disappearing woods and wilderness for some large housing development near by 🤮
One time we got lost but i remembered this building can show a road that bring me home... It was the first visit to the USA and now im kinda sad about lmao
I worked security for Bethlehem Steel in the 90s. I had full access to this extremely well built building. Hearing everyone cheering 📣 like the Eagles just won the Superbowl was sadning , the building should have been preserved Bethlehem Steel basically built America, now a Casino sits where part of the plant was and most of the plants buildings have been erased from history . Yes some of Martin Towers other buildings were neglected way back in the 90s the main tower was built so well it didn't need much, I personally saw its skeleton nothing like it out there! 😢 could have been turned into condos or apartments. The executive suites for the steel and another company were incredible, hand woven wall to wall carpet, antique guns, hand painted portraits of important people in the company (the kind that the eyes seem to follow you) it will be missed it was both an icon and a landmark of what America used to be. And should still be!
And the bonus is instead of having housing for hundreds of people if they converted the Tower they'll just tear down more woods for an 800 home housing development. 8 billion and accelerating despite this overblown virus. Gotta love people 🤮
@@cranksetwrench asbestos can safely be removed and mold and water damage can happen to brand new buildings when not maintained properly. Sounds like they just let it go.

well said my friend! Its impossible, for a building made of steel, to collapse with the speed of gravity like they did. it was a controlled demolition as well. thousands of american architects have confirmed that.
According to us brilliant humans, demolishing a structure that will last another 300 years with maintenance and instead tearing down more woods a d wilderness for a 800 ho,e housing development is "progress" 😶
: } I miss seeing this building every day when i wake up and when i go to bed at night. Its a shame that this had to come down.i hope they wii put something worth in that spot.

It will be missed, Bethlehem won’t be the same anymore.
RIP to the construction worker who lost their life during clean up. Bless those who work in the field, all trades.
Never knew people died during this demolition.
@@radamschannel6883 during the clean up
i thought every demolitions are prepared enough and safety is the most preferred one.
Never really understood the point of clapping and cheering over this stuff.
It's not every day that we got to see a building get blown up.
90% of people are stupid end entertained by next to nothing........
Thanks for posting this! Wanted to be there this morning and couldn’t make it.
yea me too and im down the street
I will never wake up again seeing the building.😭

What a shame. Now to be replaced by a Distribution center. Like the rest of the Lehigh Valley.

@@pinebarrenpatriot8289 asbestos + insulation removal costs a lot and plus there was mold growth and water damage as well

Such a shame, would’ve made great apartments. Oh well
True, but tearing down more fastly d,is appearing woods and wilderness for a huge housing development is "progress" according to people
@@pinebarrenpatriot8289 I would call this profitable instead of ''progress'' :-(
Reminded me of Corporate Plaza in 94 and that building wasn't even 10 years old yet. .
can't recollect any other choreography that could champion that; the crew must've got themselves quite the RUSH 🍸
Ok theres a mental hospital and through one of the windows you can see the tower so what if some people have ptsd and start having a panic attack
Hannah Confalone true. Hopefully they gave the hospital plenty of warning
If that's how man thought we'd never get anything done, unfortunately 🤷♂️
Wanted to be there today, but I’m on vacation😭
I was across the street from wawa
What's this building about anyways
Now you see it now you don't
why did they demolish it?
Nice footage!

I cried just out of excitement!!!!
That’s something that I would love to witness.
