Since fundamentals are what drives prices , not technicals, it doesn’t make sense to trade only 1 or 2. You should be matching a strong currency against a weak based in fundamentals and use technicals to enter. That will change day to day and week to week. And also important to understand correlated and inverse correlated pairs. Ie, USDCHF is inversely correlated to EURUSD
That’s just one way to trade out of millions of ways to trade profitably, if someone trades one pair (like myself and many others) and are consistently profitable, that’s all that matters. There is no “holy grail” approach to trading, simple
Totally agree, I find that unless we keep fundamentals in focus, we’ll stagnate. Case in point was USDJPY this week, I was focused on this pair for the past few months. However, keeping US dollar as a pivot for all major pairs, the FOMC rate decisions in the background and BOJ intervention threats in mind, I switched to USDCAD instead this week. Lower oil prices, inflation concerns and stronger US dollar against CAD allowed me to win consistently this week buying USDCAD
Good Video Mack! I find focusing on 1 to 3 pairs is the best if you are a trend trader. The real problem is when the market is not trending, we can't find any setups. Then we start to chase pairs and force trades. Now I just focus on one instrument, and I trade both the trends and sideways markets in that instrument. Learning to trade the sideways market is another skill required in tough markets, cause sometimes everything might be sideways for days or weeks.
I think as a Beginner it's very important to first trade few pairs going as low as trading one pair. It builds habits that will help you when you start adding more pairs.
I have a strategy that allows me to pick the best possible set up/pair for the day and go with it. I look at multiple pairs and only take 1-2 trades per day. When I traded only one pair, I was forcing set ups half the time and giving back my profits second half of the week. Now that I’ve expanded my options, I look for the best possible set up for the day and go with it. I’m way more profitable now.
How many pairs are u trading now ? For me personnally i only trade eu and gu, sometimes usdchf, but if i add more than 3 pairs in my tradingview list i start declining (taking stupid setups, over trade, and eventually lose money ...)
i only trade off 1/2/4hour Time frames but i look at about 12 pairs! win rate is 60-70% due to higher TF entry but sometimes i could go months without trading a particular pair
The issue is 1. When you see same setup on 3 pairs. Which one will you choose 2. How much will you risk And waiting a while month and seeing nothing on your fave pair
Never understood the 'trade one pair' strategy thing. My A+ setups appear maybe once or twice on a 4-hour chart in a week. How in the world am I going to trade just one pair? Lol. To each his own, my friend.
This is a great video . I’m a continuation trader and trade only GJ , but trading one session , and one pair can be super slow and weeks with no trade, . When trading 3 pairs doesnt that increase your probability of losing ? . They say less is more . How is trading 3 pairs less ?
The funniest thing i watched this video and the one you were saying ,,trading only one pair is good,, the same day😂😂😂. Which video should i take as an advice?
@@TheMackGray_ but would backtesting the pairs add value in such, you'll know your win rate with all the pairs you trade and other stuff rather than trading pairs you know nothing about? Interesting by the way you're the first person I've talked to that doesn't backtest all the pairs they trade. Can you please expand on this?
@@TheMackGray_ Hey Mack, your videos are great man! If you can in your next video show some trading books you recommend that would be awesome! Thanks for all you do Mack 👍
Did you watch the video? I talked about how I get asked this question all the time now, and I changed my trading strategy to HTF based and in order to do so I added more pairs. And I listed the benefits of doing both! See ya!
For beginners, focus on one pair then diversify. Same in business, the wealthiest people focused on one business then diversified 🎯

Hey Mack. Thanks for the great video as always. Could you please make a video on how to trade HTF? How to do your top-down to find an entry please?
This is exactly my process where I do my daily analysis, then filter out all the low probability setups and only take 1 - 2 trades a day

If you watched the most recent one I said trading one pair helped me immensely. It helped me 100x in my growth.
I trade different now, so I have 3 pairs. 1 pair wasn’t giving me enough setups anymore
Do you backtest all the pairs you trade?
No I don’t

How many trades do you take a week now?
2-4 roughly! I am for if it happens
@TheMackGray_ thanks love the content going for fundi g in probalby 3 months
Trading higher timeframe needs more capital, for those who have smaller accounts lower timeframe is better

GU AND EU IS THE BEST 2 PAIR. LIKE IF U AGREE
looks like you avoid JPY pairs :)
Yes I do :) for now
jpy is drunk
I remember 1 of your video telling us to focus on 1 pair. Now you telling us to trade multiple pair.
Where's the consistency?
Unsubscribed!

It's not about the pair it's about the system!!!! Except gu. Bun gu
hahahah yup
Brilliant idea , Been finding during London session if EU takes Asia low , and the bias aligns we long, USDCHF will do the opposite to a T , 🫣
hahah yup! thx bro
