I was disgnosed with GBM Grade 4 in July 2007, and was promptly advised that my condition was 'terminal'; so what I've done is 'ignore' all the medical opinions about my 'chances', and just enjoy my family life. It's not been a 'walk in the park', but it hasn't been 'hard', either.Of course, I've felt 'looked after' by my Maker since the beginning, and always thought I'd survive the ride.
17 years... Great brother i want to see you in this comment after many many years living healthy...God bless... Now at hospital my brother in law diagonised with same condition...
Had my surgery in May 2018. Almost finished with radiation. I opted out of chemo because of something called methylation of mgmt.(unfortunately I'm not methylated, methylation predicts better survival. It's important to have the tumor genetically tested for mgmt. and IDH That said, I take a lot of CBD oil, yes even apricot seeds - I figure it can't hurt, lots of green vegies and no sugar. Amazing what they are now learning about marijuana and brain tumors. Optunes shows promise for slowing it down.
Donald Welsh I've decided not to take any chemotherapy and radiotherapy... Just taking care of my dad... Some of dr friends suggested me the same.. as the side effects of these therapies are painful... My dad is of 61 years.. no cure for gbm.. just to extend some months i decided not to give the treatment just because of those side effects...
Again results are much better for mgmt and idh genetic markers. You should discuss with your doctors. Also there is optune. Radiation wasn't painful - Google brain tumors and marijuana - very interesting info.
