About The Chi on SHOWTIME: On Chicago's south side, an average day finds kids prepping for school as their parents head off to work, young adults trying to make a living, and the elders keeping an eye on things from their front porches. But in this tough neighborhood, real dangers threaten daily to squelch dreams, and the simplest decisions can have life or death consequences. From Emmy® winner Lena Waithe, The Chi is a timely coming-of-age drama series centered on a group of residents who become linked by coincidence but bonded by the need for connection and redemption.

This is why shows like The Chi is important. It tackles the things people struggle with internally and externally and how we can heal one self and help another if possible

This is a much needed conversation. Mental health, trauma, sadness, racism & unanswered questions are real things people deal with. Happy to see The Chi is having this important conversation 😊

This is such a powerful conversation! I loved the addition of the circle group. It’s Mental Health Awareness Month, I hope everyone is taking care of themselves. And reach out to someone if you need it, don’t ever feel ashamed.

Loved this. As Emmitt said on the Chi. "You have to put one foot in front of the other." Do that with mental health and watch how your life starts to improve. Keep up the good work yall.

Mental health is so important. But finding a group or individuals to express your thoughts, feelings, and emotions to is scary because individuals love to gossip and tell people's secrets, which often leads to many becoming suicidal.

Yes, I think that you should talk about it and people should not be ashamed of it and embarrassed it is okay to talk your issues out with a counselor and therapy and take the medicine that you need to balance the chemicals in your brain. Acting so very much and I'm speaking on an experienced person who has been through that. Sometimes kids are being bullied at school and they don't say anything or tell their parents when you are under peer pressure in school I think the child can be open with their parents and then you can get therapy and counseling for them so that they can know how to handle the situation much better and they also should talk about it in school to the children it's not just in the black community it's in the white community and the Asia is all color race back then long time ago when black people didn't have the money to go to these things White had the money to go to counseling and therapy now since we have insurance people are still scared to open up or go to them they are being shame because they think their family or friends going to talk about them forget about that you better yourself so that you can function in the world. I make sure that my children talk to me about anything and open up and let them know that it was it is okay to talk to me openly and won't get judged. And if they need help let me know and if I see any type of sign I'm going to talk to them about the issue and that's what I do with my children and my grand regardless of whether people judge me or not I don't care anymore longest I'm happy and have peace in my heart and myself I'm fine I don't worry about what other people think as I used to I hold my head up and keep moving because I thank God for what he brought me from.

Jehovah God is the only "Hearer of prayer." Those who practice willfully things that are against His laws, principles and high moral standards, their prayers are "detestable " to Him-Psalms 65:2;83:18; Prov 28:9; Gal 5:19-21; 1 Cor 6:9,10; Rom 1:24-28; Eph 4:29,31; Heb 10:26

No it’s NOT God also give you people confess your sins to one another and you’ll receive mercy and with Moses his father in law said he needed council because he shouldn’t carry that alone we are meant to have people in our lives but it’s WHO you allow in your life should better each other..
