I find Nectar to be one of their worst lol. Would pick any other from the album with their ups and down. Probably the most all arounded song is To Bid You Farewell, it can stand the pass of time

Wow. This is an audacious goal you've tackled. Like saying which of your seven children you love the very most. There is the odd wart in their discography, as any set of human musicians is going to produce throughout their career, but generally, the breadth and scope of the music these guys make puts them into the rarefied air category. I'd encourage anyone to get past the preconceived notions and connotations of 'what this type of music is all about' and instead take the time to listen to what's being created - if you profess to have even a singular bone of musicality in you then you need to give them a listen - astounding.

Harvest 67???? No wayyyy Please ! Overplayed or not 💔 same for Hessian Peel 💔 I suffer and for Coil too that i adore . Ghost of Perdition is in my top 🔝 3 Opeth songs ever and so is The Drapery Falls. But I agree ☝️ with you about Face Of Melinda. Even for me this is in my podium and maybe best one ☝️ . I have a hard time trying to rank the albums from Opeth because all of them are so good and you manage to rank all of the songs, thats pretty impressive.
Well, i will give my list then! I counted with their special edition songs and Patterns in the ivy 2 and still day beneath the sun, as well as throat pf winter! I also love every single opeth song. Only one i just «like» is black rose immortal.. Not the last on my list though, just because i can’t criticise intros etc as much. By the way, did you forget The Moor? Or did i just miss it in your ranking?

As i'm stil pretty young (20 years old) i experience that i enjoy different types of music and styles more and others less. This list has definitely changed. Famine ranked low back then would have been at least 50 spaces higher... Same goes for spring mcmxlvv (at least 60 spaces higher) and a fleeting glance (at least 20 spaces higher).. Every opeth song is a masterpiece though... So it will probably have changed in a year again!

I think Damnation as a whole showed Opeth could do clean vocals and still be an excellent band. I adore that album and I'm very much a DEATH METAL OPETH RAAAAAAGH guy.

Obviously I have a few differences with you, but, each day my list would be totally different. I liked the yours one. Black Rose Immortal, as I see in the comments and everywhere, or you love it, or you hate it. My first impression was bad, but after a long time (years), It's in my top 10 too. Great video! I imagine a lot of work and time behind it.

I really couldn't make such a list, I can't even really rank the albums. But there's a few songs I'd definitly put at the top without hesitation. Leper affinity, Blackwater park, To bid you farewell, Wreath, Deliverance, A fair judgement, Allting tar slut, Hope leaves and Heir apparent come to mind first. Cirkelns riktening (or something like that) is a pretty cool bonus track from ICV, you can find it on YT and Soundcloud. Hope we'll get the 2 other bonus tracks of ICV ad well. Definitely love that record and can't wait for them to do #14.
I'd have to rank Still Life songs in sequence, and at the top of the list. Perfect Album.

Always nice to see The Moor get the respect it deserves. It's #1 on my list. Even with that slow start, it's one song I never skip when it comes up on shuffle unless I'm driving like 5 mins somewhere which, in that case, Opeth probably isnt the band I should be listening to 😄

My 3 favorite tracks, I think, are 'The Night and the Silent Water', 'The Twilight is My Robe', and 'The Drapery Falls'. I am a sucker for the funeral dirge-like guitar tone of their first 2 records. That tone is absolute bliss.
I don't care for any of their last 4 records, particularly Pale Communion. That album just kinda sucks. It's boring, which is the worst thing you can say about a piece of music.

I think Famine is a great song, it sounds a bit like Jerhro Tull to me because of how progressive it is and because of the flute, kinda sad that it didn't rank higher on this list, but that's alright

It's the song that got me into Opeth, and has their best riffs imo.
It was off of Opeth's first album and is a highly memorable one for me! So raw and gutsy in the evolution of their sound as they progressed, love it!

My favorite album is My Arms, Your Hearse. Yes! Not their best but my favorite! Objectively Blackwater Park is their best, and why is it better than Still Life? Well because it's production. The way all instruments are blended and how the vocals sound, and the piano outro on The Leper Affinity make this album their best. Not only the song writing, but the production included. But hearing them live it's different. Especially on the Still Life songs. I heart 3 songs from that album on one of their concerts, and they were better than the Blackwater Park songs. Same goes for the Still Life and Morningrise songs that night.

Grand Conjuration is the most overrated song from the most overrated album. It's like 4 minutes too long. The Moor, Blackwater Park, and To Bid You Farewell are my personal favorites.
Ghost Reveries was my first Opeth album so it holds a special place in my heart, but yeah, The Grand Conjuration may be my least favorite song on that album. It's still not BAD but it's massively overshadowed by so many other songs even on the same album let alone across their discography.
