This is living history, Not only does Dr. Brooks discuss some of the greatest innovations in computer architecture as one of the principals involved, but he does it with great articulation, amazing recollection of details and a pleasant and friendly demeanor, with absolutely no trace of ego or self-importance. Just wonderful listening to this recounting of such seminal events and the fantastic contributors involved.
This is so beautiful. I am loving every instant of this brilliant, wise, and gently funny man. How can I get my kids to watch at least some of it. I will save it too, and try to find a way to pass it on to the people I love. Fred Brooks has just died, on November 17 2022, and news of his passing, so sad in other ways, brought me here.
Rest in Peace Prof. Brooks. You inspired so many.
RIP and thank you for your contributions. 🙏
Wonderful interview. Thank you ACM. Mr Brooks is a national treasure.
