I smashed it last night. Faced the dragon with the Dwarf with a +3 axe and the loyal bear. chucked a bomb and necked some strength potion for an extra dice. Glad I bought this game! Nice one lads

Just stumbled on this game looking through games on Amazon for light dungeon games(something that is nice and simple to play in week days when there is not much time to play long games), looks really nice! Definatly a purchase for me :) Edit: now brought! Will play on weekend 😁😁
This is such a great little game. A really neat revamp of the old 80s roguelike dungeon tabletop crawling games but with a modern twist. We love it!

Looks interesting but I feel like in solo there should be some timed mechanism or something because just resetting your action points seems a bit mundane and insignificant when you can just inconsequentially reset action points as many times as you want
Sorry quick rule question, do you always pick an item after killing a monster? In the rule book it says to draw one of the monster has 6-9 health, two if the monster has 10+ but goblins only have 5 health
Hi Daniel, That's right you do not draw an item if it's a small monster e.g. a goblin with 5 health. Some characters e.g. the halfling in the Legends expansion can pick an item on a 5.
@@gunpowderboardgames thanks sorry to be a pain but got two more questions.
1) Mirror Monster says you take items based on it's health at the start of the fight, so it if has 10 health at the start do you draw 10 items on killing it?
2) what are the dragon scrolls are they just alternative rules and play modes?
@@danielhopkins7480 That's ok. The Mirror Monster mirrors you, so if you had more than 9 health before the fight you would take 2 items yes, or more than 6 you would take only 1 and if 5 none etc... The Dragon Scrolls are fun and are to be played as stand-alone adventures, not with the main game, they are challenges and smaller scenarios separate from the big game.
You need to start working on expansions, more than glad to help. The game is brilliant !!!
This is a great game and Russ and Tim are very helpful guys on BGG. I'm so glad I bought it. Just a little question for the solo players; do we always have to play it with one character or can a solo player use 2 or more characters? I guess then it's just a co-op game, but with 1 life per character, right?
Thanks Man, Yes you can play it with up to four characters on solo, controlling all of them with one life each, but for the hardest game, you use one, two easier etc.. Even though this example shows quite an easy play due to dice in my favour. It's tough with one.

Just got this off of Amazon and cant wait to play...quick question about escaping as I am a bit confused...can you escape only before you start rolling of the dice begins or at any point?...for example if I decide to fight the monster and roll the dice against it a couple times however get some bad rolls and take some big damage, can I then decide to leave (as long as I have an AP) so that I dont die? Or once I engage in rolling the dice do I have to fight until one of us die?...sorry just a little confused because rules say before any combat round you can escape and I'm just a little confused with that...to me it means when I first land on the monster tile i have to decide to "fight or flight" but actually in the video it seems like you can leave anytime even in middle of the fight as long as you have AP...great video!!!
Ah! yes I see what you mean and it's good to clarify this. A combat round is each roll of the dice (you and monster) during a fight as opposed to a turn, which is all your APs. You can escape during a fight (turn) as long as you have APs and can take the damage. Also see 5.3 in the rules where it says 'slug it out' or escape. Hope that helps.

Thanks Jesse, It is to start with (shown here), but as items and monsters appear you'll need to choose your best options to survive as it gets more challenging. You'll never play the same game twice.

Thanks Kevin. Actually, it's just an old chest I found in a junk shop (for keeping firewood in) but it's perfect for games.
My healer was one tile away from a monster and used flying daggers causing 7 damage, does the monster retaliate or block this? BTW my fighter was in combat with the monster at the time. Thanks for a great game guys.
Hi Tez, The Flying daggers are a ranged spell so no blocking or retaliation on that one and it inflicts instant damage on the monster on that players' turn, at which point the healer needs to go in and finish it off (if it's above 7 health) within their action points left, or the monster resets. Not sure how the fighter could be in combat at the same time as the healer as each character resolves combat on their turn (win or lose) unless they tag. Glad you are enjoying the game.

Can you have multi player combat or only 1 person in melee at a time?
You fight alone in multiplayer but you can tag one other player near you (see tagging in the rules). Good luck!

Quick question with tagging...does the tagged player also get to use any items such as armor to negate any of the half damage they receive or add modifier if have a weapon or is the only benefit to add 1 D6 to roll? Tried looking for answer online in like FAQ but couldn't find any answer

Purchased this game 2 weeks ago. Like it alot. I was wondering..if someone uses there AP to move to you and help you.. does there AP reset after the fight when they begin there actual turn? Or is that the actual sacrifice they made to help you and only get to use left over action points on there turn?
Thanks Nino, Really appreciate that. No, their APs are reset at the start of their turn, it's just to see if they can get to you in time when tagged in. Hope that helps.

Question regarding on skill token for the game expansion, In the rule book, it says you gain skill tokens from successful action during the game, but it is also stated in the other page that you gain skill token if you are not drawing item. How about monster 5 health below? Can I get skill token from them?
Hi Jonrey. When you would normally reach for the bag to take an item, you can take a skill token instead.
Question does the exit spawn a dragon even on the co-op game? Seems to be in the solo part of the rule book.
Yes, the Exit or M12 tile always spawns the dragon. Hope that helps.
when you first start out, you dont get a weapon? the first monster you fight, do you have a weapon? or is it hand to hand?
Every character carries a basic dagger or knife with their base attack e.g. in their boot or belt.

I kind of wish this game was more co-op focused. I feel a lot of CO-OP board games feel they need to add a competitive element or back stabbing mechanic. I love a lot of how this looks though.
That's a fair point. The new 2nd Edition is co-op out of the box and the competitive play is only in the advanced rules.

seems like AP does almost zero in this game? same with rounds? and very little to do on all the blank tiles
Hi Quills, I can see why that looks like that but when you start playing, and this video maybe doesn't show this too well with one character, the APs are very important to the gameplay. Maybe this video shows it better: ruclips.net/video/L1_e69KiU38/видео.html
The moment you enter combat the APs become very important.
love this game but the point system needs to be reworked. Ring is worth too much and it comes down to a single roll of the dice and whoever is closest. If the ring was worth less points or the dragon is worth more than it would make more sense. Also reacher should be worth two points. I added a point system with every two Items being counted as 1 point as well. Overall its fun but adding those house rules to my gameplay has significantly increased strategy and gameplay enjoyment.
What is the point of AP in solo game?
APS (action points) are really important even in solo. Each turn you take is run by your remaining APs so using items, casting spells, moving use APs within that turn. If you don't kill a monster within your turn its health is reset.

@@Infinatus25 All monsters health resets at the end of your turn and yes you can gang up by TAGGING one other player (during your turn), see section 9, tagging, and you get one extra dice. Hope that helps.
@@gunpowderboardgames but can't you just walk back and forth with nothing happening on the tile before a monster to reset your turn then walk onto the tile to always battle with full AP?
