Yeah the hunt was a debacle for laughs but it would have been very entertaining done properly. There was zero Intensity
That would be pretty hot honestly. Someone who is used to creeping through the woods as quietly as possible. Maybe make some suits for the hunted that allows that shoulder mounted laser to aim at and can light up when you are hit or something
It would be really easy for the hunter I think. Only the reflective tent was a bit of a challenge, but not for active IR.
If the prey also had some extra vision capabilities it might be balanced.

@@biggiecheese3965 If you drink more water, your pee is lighter in color. If you drink absolutely nothing but water, your pee actually turns clear.
I actually taught wilderness survival. Drinking pee will actually kill you since it is basically ammonia. Best case scenario, you end up with nausea, vomiting & abdominal pain. Worst case, you end up with esophageal burns & corrosive injuries. A more concentrated dose will result in more corrosive injuries which could lead to death. Boiling it will also result in the ammonia being more concentrated since you're evaporating the little water left in it.
A better solution would be to find a river & either boil the water from there or dig a foxhole nearby & let the ground filter the water. Make sure to let the foxhole settle first though or you'll get muddy water. You'll still have somewhat dirty water but at least it'll be filtered & safe for consumption

Well that would be rather boring in a forest setup... Unless it's heavy rain or very windy, you'll easily hear anyone approaching far away.
Only option would be to do it in an urban setting, even then the hunter would have to take care to not make noise, when you're paying attention to sounds and not staring at your phone, you might be surprised to the amount of stuff you'll notice.
Plus that 60 fps camera would put the hunter at an extreme disadvantage in regards to running or "fighting", 60fps just isen't enough for real movement, delay will screw you over more than anything.
And the 9 fps FLIR... That's not even something I would rely on, you can get really expensive ones that are bigger, but also allow for much higher refresh rate, sensitivity and resolution.
Unfortunately this concept isen't viable in real world applications, but yes... A "real" version would be kinda cool.
@@Fiirow1 Easily hear them? Not unless you're stomping through the forest like a pissed off elephant. There's a certain way to walk through the woods that minimizes noise while you walk. I'll let you figure out how though.
Fiirow1, honestly I think that them trying their hardest would be more fun to watch. It was rather boring just seeing them get picked off with no effort whatsoever. It’s why people play manhunt as opposed to hide and seek.
While the hunter might be at a disadvantage in this situation, there are numerous ways to make the helmet rig better, or have a long distance runner wear the helmet. In the second case people could run from the hunter, but would eventually get tired and have to hide. The helmet truly would shine in this situation.

- Avoid soft ground/ sticks.
- Walk slowly to not spook animals.
- Use terrain to mask sound like low points or hills.
And the rookie mistake: Make sure your clothing / gear isn't making any noise, even if you do sudden movements.
I've had my share of time in the woods, and good luck sneaking up on me if I expect you.

The truth is high quality thermal is 3k +, if you drop your weapon wrong -3k quickly. Multiply that by all the sensitivity of the equipment and maintenance. There's a reason why they're only usually mounted on high powered rifles, and even then they can recoil them to breaking.
@@TheBlackB0X Theres also the possibility that if something goes wrong and you lose the equipment, bad guys can retrieve the equipment and use it against you or reverse engineer it. Plus in the case of a literal helmet with all this tech, comfort is important. Sure you can carry 100lbs of gear, but why bring/wear a winter jacket when you're in the rain forest? Ditch that weight so you don't weigh yourself down and tire yourself out so quickly. Unless you need to use it, wearing an enclosed helmet in the desert or a hot and humid forest sounds like a great way to get heatstroke, pass out, fall, injure yourself AND damage expensive equipment.
It would be cool to do an actual manhunt version of this at night with perhaps paintballs instead of a laser. The predator noise could also be played at regular intervals to alarm others and keep the game fair, and maybe the players could also have a system that makes them beep every so often.
This is the real manhunt with 5 speedrunners and 1 hunter
