Or at least let us change Gravitas. I think it's unique enough for being the only innate STR based Katana (thus the one that benefits the most when you 2-hand it like a proper samurai) throughout the whole soulsborne series.
Yeah like Ash of War that’s just for Katana (and maybe curved swords) that’s used to fuck up shields, then is you wanna make the Ore Blade still special it can have this Exact Ash of War with an added gravity effect of some kind
Berserker's blade from DS2 actually has a very specific use to it, which I don't see many people talk about. At 99 in both stats, it is the only katana in the game that reaches the same base damage as chaos blades without any hp penalty, which makes it ideal for NG+alot powerstance builds (these are amazing btw, easily the best type of build in the entire game)

The meteoric ore blade is a nice option if you are doing a str-int build and want an easily upgradeable faster weapon that will scale decently with your build.

@@theo373 I wish the Meteoric Ore Blade had either a unique Ash of War or the option to swap out Gravitas I would've preferred an unsheathe/stance with the following options: - R1 = push enemies away, quick swipe that creates a gravity arc - R2 = pull enemies towards user, a chargeable variant of Gravitas To be fair, I wish all the unique Elden Ring katanas had their own variants of the unsheathe skill

@youwy yes, like the Helphins Steeple or Dark Moon Greatsword. Then, if you want to have a lighter weapon with a faster moveset in your back pocket for certain situations, or just a little variety, then the Meteoric Ore blade will scale decently with a build dedicated for one of those two previous weapons.
tbh I have to disagree with Chikage not being even higher. If you just ignore skill and only pump bloodtinge (and thus only use the transformed version, which isn't hard) you do absolutely stupid damage with the chikage, of arguably the very best damage type in the game (Seriously basically nothing is resistant to blood damage, it's as good as piercing damage), stupidly fast. Having played a lot of BB runs, I cannot think of a weapon that feels more like I'm breaking the game than chikage, other than the Bloodletter, which is basically just "what if Chikage, but also stupid range?" but you also get that only 3/4 of the way through the endgame DLC, so that's basically only for bullying the Orphan or NG+
I’m surprised he doesn’t count the Rakuyo as a katana. I feel like it would rank about top 5 or even top 3. Or maybe lower bc of the chore of getting the weapon in the first place

Sleeping on Meteoric Ore incredibly hard lol. It sure looks bad when you ignore Gravitas's significantly useful use cases including its combo with the heavy attack, and how good the heavy attack is for landing multiple stance-breaking attacks in a short time to melt bosses.
Chikage on full blood build deals disgustingly high damage, it also has like every sort of atrack, it has the quickdraw, thrusts, quick combos. It has everything including style, and rapid poison as well. And the charged attack + followup... Chikage my beloved, most favourite soulsborneekiroring weapon ever
Not gonna lie, your comment at 19:33 confuses me in terms of how Rivers of Blood got above the Elden Ring Uchigatana, when you admitted a Uchi or Naga with Double Slash would be better than Rivers. Either way, solid list otherwise, dude.
Probably because Uchigatana is completely outclassed in every way by the Nagakiba which greatly lowers its usefulness. RoB is a bit more unique of a weapon in comparison while it's ash has around double the range of an Uchigatana. In summary: Uchigatana is a better weapon but its ranked lower because it has a direct upgrade.

Dragonscale blade is insanely strong dude, it’s true in Elden Ring that it doesn’t serve that much of a purpose especially because it’s a pain in the neck to acquire but if it was in any of the other games it would absolutely melt everything and doesn’t need to bleed to do it. So i’m not sure if I agree with the placement. 160 lightning damage is a lot, plus frost; the dps output is very good. @spaceman10th31 It doesn't scale off of faith whatsoever. It gets a flat 160 lighting damage which is pretty massive for a buff making it also really strong early game.
Chaos Blade (DS1) is excellent in PvE for a dex build and arguably the strongest single weapon in high level PvP. Man gave it 19/33 in the series. Washing Pole as #1 in DS1. Baffling. But maybe making list without playing all the games on it?

I really feel like chikage could've excelled if half the game wasn't resistant or downright immune to rapid poison (bloodborne bleed)
Has to be the uchi, can get the uchi in all games super early and elden ring even starts you off with it in a class, sure bloodborne its not so early unless you use do a duegon. And i have a feeling the uci was made first and the rest were proably built off it. Representing an amazing Japanese sword can't go wrong with the basic katana
Feet ranking next?? Please? ❤
Rakuyo from Bloodborne?! Easily number 1
Idk it doesn’t look much like a katana to me. But on a list like this it would’ve been top 3
@@youwyI think they were joking bc I’ve never met someone who considers it a katana😂
ive never met someone who doesnt consider it a katana @@v.thirteen5504
Comeing in at number 1 sekiros katana
i was ''wtf nagakiba is not n°1'' and then remembered sekiro, bc oh yeah, basing on utility on the game its the one and only katana you need/have
I miss blacksteel man.
you forgot rakuyo!!!
