Having played a lot of BB runs, I cannot think of a weapon that feels more like I'm breaking the game than chikage, other than the Bloodletter, which is basically just "what if Chikage, but also stupid range?" but you also get that only 3/4 of the way through the endgame DLC, so that's basically only for bullying the Orphan or NG+

Not gonna lie, your comment at 19:33 confuses me in terms of how Rivers of Blood got above the Elden Ring Uchigatana, when you admitted a Uchi or Naga with Double Slash would be better than Rivers. Either way, solid list otherwise, dude.
Probably because Uchigatana is completely outclassed in every way by the Nagakiba which greatly lowers its usefulness. RoB is a bit more unique of a weapon in comparison while it's ash has around double the range of an Uchigatana. In summary: Uchigatana is a better weapon but its ranked lower because it has a direct upgrade.

Chikage is probably my favorite katana in all of Souls. While in other games i like katanas, but they're never in my favorite category.
Ok, maybe I'm missing something, but you talking about Blacksteel having worse damage than any other katana seems...wrong to me? I've been checking the numbers in planner, and at 40 Dex it seems to outdamage every competitor with the exception of Chaos Blade (and technically Washing Pole, but WP wins by miniscule amount of AR and in return has 130 Counter and 20 Durability). And that's not counting the fact that it has such a good Dex scaling that it gets a decent boost in AR even past the soft cap (for example, at 80 Dex it reaches 375 AR, compared to Uchi's 349). Combine that with superior moveset and it really feels like it should be higher up the list, at least comperatively to other DS2 katanas.
Chikage on full blood build deals disgustingly high damage, it also has like every sort of atrack, it has the quickdraw, thrusts, quick combos. It has everything including style, and rapid poison as well. And the charged attack + followup... Chikage my beloved, most favourite soulsborneekiroring weapon ever
Dragonscale blade is insanely strong dude, it’s true in Elden Ring that it doesn’t serve that much of a purpose especially because it’s a pain in the neck to acquire but if it was in any of the other games it would absolutely melt everything and doesn’t need to bleed to do it. So i’m not sure if I agree with the placement. 160 lightning damage is a lot, plus frost; the dps output is very good. The scalings are good and it would be broken in early game if you could actually acquire it early. I think it’s better than the Hand of Melania too, Hand of Melania is trash
@spaceman10th31 It doesn't scale off of faith whatsoever. It gets a flat 160 lighting damage which is pretty massive for a buff making it also really strong early game.
Blacksteel got done so dirty here. No mention of the fact it's R1 makes a follow up R2 significantly faster. Not to mention it's scaling is so juiced it keeps getting meaningful damage after dex softcaps, to the point it can contend with Ds2 chaos blade in terms of AR.
Blacksteel katana not in top 10 is criminal, you can speed up how fast the R2 comes out if you hit an R1 first. Could easily land 4 hit combos with it. Could also be buffed.
I literally dont even know what you looked at for damage, with two handing the meteoric ore blade does one of the most damage with the AR calculator witht he same amount of stats distributed. Its only problem really is the ash of war and for people who really dont use em, its just an amazing katana and far better than the moonviel if thats the way you play
meteoric blade is just a worse kusabimaru, its heavy attack is just a worse ichimonji (ichimonji best combat art fr) meteoric blade uses lighting while kusabimaru reflects it

Sekiro is not a souls game I think comparing sekiro with dark souls doesn’t make any sense sekiro is NOT a souls game lol it’s more like a melee uncharted game
I only finished Demon's Souls 2 times, so i do not have a clear picture. Bloodborne and Sekiro only have one katana. For the rest of the games it goes like that. DS1 - Katanas are broken. Their R1 spam is at the same speed (and a tiny bit faster) as straight swords and thrusting swords. Only curved swords and daggers swing faster (a little bit faster for curved swords), but they get much better range, much better damage (only painting guardian sword compares), much better moveset and bleed (which is extremely useful in DS1). Also buffs in DS1 add an INSANE amount of FLAT damage, which heavily favours faster weapons. Uchigatana/Iaito are top 5 for sure for all games. The Washing Pole attacks MUCH slower. Not even close. DS2 - Katanas are just OK, they are perfectly balanced and in line with the rest of the weapons. They swing at the same speed as greatswords, and while they have worse damage, worse range (for the most part) and worse poise damage, they compensate with higher counter damage. Also katanas have the highest attack speed in the game when they are powerstanced, but they consume alot of stamina. Dual Chaos blades have the highest DPS in the game, but the high stamina cost, plus damaging yourself for 100 HP per swing makes them balanced. DS3 - Katanas are kinda crap. They swing much slower than straight swords and curved swords, and they do comparable damage. Bleed is not that useful to compensate, and enemies can be poise broken by even a dagger. No much reason to use them. Onikiri is directly HEAVILY outclassed by Sellsword Twins and only the Freyed Blade has enough going on for it to justify using it (outside of personal taste). Elden Ring - Generally they can be really great due to their Ashes of War. I do not think that they are as above the competition as they are in DS1, but they are very powerful nonetheless. Nagakiba should have a slower moveset, as the washing pole does in all other games. I disagree with Rivers of Blood. I think in meta levels it is still the best weapon to take out big groups of trash mobs on an arcane build, and on really high levels (over 200), it out damages heavily the Nagakiba even on 1 vs 1 (in most cases). Generally my top 10 would be similar to yours, but i would have the DS1 Uchi much much higher.
Yeah DS1 Katanas are absolutely broken in PvP and still do some of the highest dps in PvE while being more flexible than most of the few alternatives that out damage them. In my try hard set up I basically didn't lose vs anyone else who wasn't experienced and rocking something top tier meta in DS1 and a big part of that was CB/Uchi.
Ok I need people's opinion, What would people recommend the Uchigatana or the Iaito, cos I know the Iaito has the better R2 Horizontal Slash, but the Uchigatana does ever so slightly more damage, what do you guys say???
@@youwy yeah it is my first playthrough, but I know a heap, and I was thinking whether I should use the uchi till I get the Iaito or just stick with the uchi? Either thank you so much man for the advice, it really helps, cos I was planning on doing a Dex build for my first playthrough and using the uchi for most the time then move to the Great Scythe but I might just stick with the Uchi.
These literal crutches have it all, damage, speed, ease of use, range, low fp cost and their attacks have a certain armor which makes the damage trade more tedious due to the almost intrinsic bleeding it causes. Considering that, perhaps it would not be logical that weapons like a Greatsword do damage to armor, more damage to poise and have more poise when executing their skills? I understand that from software is Japanese, but come on, not because the weapon is Japanese is it going to be the best in every aspect, even their ashes of war have quite an increase in poise, considering everything they give and how little they require, the "skills "Of those weapons they should be easier to interrupt, because it is a list of advantages and no disadvantages, not for nothing are they the most used type of weapon
Chaos Blade (DS1) is excellent in PvE for a dex build and arguably the strongest single weapon in high level PvP. Man gave it 19/33 in the series. Washing Pole as #1 in DS1. Baffling. But maybe making list without playing all the games on it?
A cool Idea I just thought of is ranking each level design in the games. 😲 Which you kinda already did with the starting room rankings which was an awesome video.

It has everything including style, and rapid poison as well. And the charged attack + followup... Chikage my beloved, most favourite soulsborneekiroring weapon ever
you forgot rakuyo!!!
Yeah, I'm pretty sure it has the highest damage out of all katanas while buffed at almost all stages of the game.
Nagakiba the goat
wait is rakuyo not a katana?
no
I have prefered katanas ever since my first playthrough of DS1. I have yet to try a frost/bleed combo double katana build in Elden Ring.
Kusabimaru has good moves, but b/c of the nature of Sekiro's combat, it feels like you are hitting things with cardboard wrapping paper tube.
God i want to play Bloodborne ON MY COMPUTER
Dark souls 2 Uchigatana is my fav in the game. Sure, there are so much more stronger katanas to use at 40 dex, but Uchigatana looks so clean.
Its only problem really is the ash of war and for people who really dont use em, its just an amazing katana and far better than the moonviel if thats the way you play
meteoric blade is just a worse kusabimaru, its heavy attack is just a worse ichimonji (ichimonji best combat art fr) meteoric blade uses lighting while kusabimaru reflects it
Hey everyone, hope u are doing well but as humans we are all gonna die one die so I just wanna say If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
im an Uchigatana enjoyer, thinking about doing an all souls Uchigatana Run (maybe minus DS2 xD)
ive only played elden ring but i somehow knew that the meteoric ore blade would be last LMAO
“Dark damage is the worst type of damage in Dark Souls 3”
What? Since when?
For the longest the Rakuyo was classified as a katana.....when did they correct it?
Are you okay? You sound kind of bothered overall. Hope everything is going well or gets better
Been waiting on a vid like this
Bests katana are in dark souls 1 and 2, not after.
Because? Ripost attack have been deleted in nexts opus.
Ok I need people's opinion, What would people recommend the Uchigatana or the Iaito, cos I know the Iaito has the better R2 Horizontal Slash, but the Uchigatana does ever so slightly more damage, what do you guys say???
If it’s your first playthrough just go with an uchi because it’s easier to get
@@youwy yeah it is my first playthrough, but I know a heap, and I was thinking whether I should use the uchi till I get the Iaito or just stick with the uchi? Either thank you so much man for the advice, it really helps, cos I was planning on doing a Dex build for my first playthrough and using the uchi for most the time then move to the Great Scythe but I might just stick with the Uchi.
putting meteoric ore blade last is insane and it honestly shows ur lack of game knowledge lol
I’m not trying to be a nag but isn’t the rakuyo a katana.
Jesus,i wanna see the best streght weapon in every souls borne, good video
There is no game aside from sekiro where the best weapon is a katana
Malenia’s katana not having even one unique atack besides the skill is a crime.
On my last playthru beserker blade dropped righr away
Let’s go
the ragad armor is igons armor from the dlc thats crazy
kusabimaru is the best, mortal blade comes 2nd
my poor RoB, look how they massacred my boy
i miss u
best bare fist ranking when?
DS2>The rest
@@youwy bloodborne viscerals cant save it?
No contest Kusabimaru. So OP the best
Bro, you forgot the rakuyo 🤓
(Best katana btw)
Rivers of blood is esay number one fight me
What about Armored Core?
Do best boss weapon from all souls borne games
Chaos Blade (DS1) is excellent in PvE for a dex build and arguably the strongest single weapon in high level PvP. Man gave it 19/33 in the series. Washing Pole as #1 in DS1. Baffling. But maybe making list without playing all the games on it?
Comeing in at number 1 sekiros katana
Hand of Malenia is so underrated
It’s my personal favorite
Chikage is best because i have fun using it
A cool Idea I just thought of is ranking each level design in the games. 😲
Which you kinda already did with the starting room rankings which was an awesome video.
Am I the only one who wants to start seeing Lies of P added to these lists?
Not soulsborne
@@lollypop9998it’s the same genre and just as good as a fromsoft game. Let it sit at the table with the big boys
@@freshavocado4755 would make the videos most interesting for sure
Yes
@freshavocado4755 if nothing else some competition would be good.
this is my favorate youwy video
As soon as I saw Nagakiba at N°.2 I started to do mental gymnastics to if I missed any katanas because it is by far the best katana to be used
And then I remembered that Sekiro is a whole game you play with a single weapon and that weapon is a katana with 100% Physical resistance, some of the most powerful skills of all games, can redirect lightning, breaks posture, parries, and insta-kills on back-stabs and ripostes forcing the enemy to revive.
I really feel like chikage could've excelled if half the game wasn't resistant or downright immune to rapid poison (bloodborne bleed)
Uh dude, what about Sabimaru? Really good against O'rin dude, can't believe you forgot it smh my head
Best d3 dex weapon chaos blade
"Kataner" 😂
Love the ranking
