That's some awesome shots there Stefan, well done! And congrats on today's win in Aussie
Hey Tim, I was expecting you to also be competing at the WGC in Aussie?!
Wow, what an unreal landscape! 4:14 and 5:49 are my favorite shots 😍
What a spectacular scenery throughout the epic flight !
Fantastic footage, Stefan! Some of the best I've ever seen from glider to glider.
What a wonderful video and experience you shared with us - thank you Stefan. Your videos just uplift us who love gliding. Best wishes to you. 😊
Welcome to New Zealand. Hope you are enjoying it / enjoyed it
Phenominal ! Absolutely spectacular views. Thanks for sharing. Another bucket list item for sure.👏
Was für ein schönes Video, Stefan! Danke dir fürs Teilen!
Loved watching this Stefan! Thanks for sharing. :)
Awesome vid mate! Glad to hear you made it back here. You're motivating me to get back down to Omarama.
Wow, that is spectacular! 🤩
Should be in everyone’s bucket list! 😍
Fabulous - flew the same route with Milan in February but there was much more cloud cover so only caught a glimpse of Mount Cook. I feel a return trip coming on.
I feel so wonderful watching you fly Stefan😊
Seriously beautiful videos guys!! Thankssssss!!!
What an amazing flight Stefan! Just at dreamspot to be on. Thanks for a very nice film.
Air quality and wave gliding are spectacular to see. Great video.
Wunderschöne Aufnahmen! Danke!
Und wieder mal topst Du so ziemlich alles, was es im Netz zum Thema zu sehen gibt. Fantastische Aufnahmen, wirklich!

My gosh man, that was Bloody Stunning! Thank You!
Wonderful! I also hope to fly with Milan in February, can't wait
Sehr beeindruckendendes und gutes Video👍
Well done Stefan. It's been a while since we've had a quality video showing off the flight from Omarama to Mt Cook. Great stuff, see you around!
Magnifique un grand merci Stefan tu nous donnes envie de venir essayer ....
Fantastic views!
Great video Stefan. Flying with Milan in NZ a must for any soaring enthusiast.
Wow, that's what I call a soaring dream becoming true, nice footage :-)
Super video Stef!!!
Very nice shots.. i hope one day to go in NZ and fly there!
Those lakes are absolutely gorgeous.. the peaks are spectacular..
As a glider pilot , what i miss more from my paragliding experience is to move around the wolrd and fly, but you are demonstrating that I am wrong!
Ceers!
Das war fantastisch. Danke Stefan.
Woa, stunning!
Incredible! Cheers
Excellent ! I'd like to fly there too one day, the Alps next to these landscapes are ridiculous. 🤩
Thanks for stopping by 😊 great to have you visiting this side of the world and having a great experience
Spectacular !
Majestic!
Wonderful!
Specatacular!!
I love flying around NZ in MSFS2020. I havent been at this mouintain but that will change. Oh and great vid as always Stefan.
Awesome Video
Just wow ❤
Brilliant to watch on my Meta Quest 3 on the very large virtual screen!!!. Thanks Laurie NZ
Nice memories, flew same routes there 10 years ago… time flies :)
I flew in that glider several years ago and tried to do the same flight as yours but got clouded in and we flew south to Wanaka and Mt Aspiring and back to Lake Benmore Total flight time of three and a half hours. Very enjoyable experience. If you come to NZ do this trip.
Nice Stephan; way to keep going on your soaring adventures, while we watch from our iPads and couches. Jealous. Was that a pretty straightforward flight into wave and then to mount cook, or was it highly technical and sketchy?
Nice work doing all that off a
Winch launch!
Gotta go there someday
AMAZING!!! 🤩🦅🦅🦅🇺🇸
Nice air to air shots. Amazing Landscape, not very much outside landing possibilities?👍😊🇫🇷
5:00 5:05 view effect with wing tip visible is seriously cool - thought was ufo 🛸 😮 amazing videos 👏
Epic vid👍👏🙏😘
Soooo good! How do you get this clean shoots through the canopy? 📸🚀
I had the opportunity to fly with Milan two days in 2019 when Glide Omarama was still operating. Fantastic flying down there! If you're planning a trip to NZ and don't visit the South Island and fly at Omarama you're making a huge mistake. Send your significant other to Hot Tubs Omarama. They'll love it. Hopefully I'll see Milan in 2025.
Did my 5000 mtr alt gain over mountain Aoraki (Cook) 20 years ago and although being an atheist I thought; wow?! So much beauty, heaven does exist 😇
One of my more memorable flights.
Stefan, congratulations for the win of the day in Narromine on the wonderfull LS3 . 2023 world championships .
Just WOW 🤤
Hey Stefan, what app is that on the phone and what watch are you wearing? :) Stunning shots, awesome job. Subscribed.
Waiting for you in Chile 🇨🇱🇨🇱
In short- wow! Epic journey and footage, well done. What a wing outline in the final seconds; you can see the influence of the Albatross wing there for sure.
Good man how about the gliding together?
What was the reason for putting up the speed breaks mid flight? 5:34
Still learning about gliding, so I'd appreciate the explanation
Reducing altitude so they can play on the Mt Cook summit ridge. No point arriving high above the ridge.
So how long was this flight?
First!
Ahh.
Geiler Film Stefan.....geniesse deine Zeit 😅
👍
Noice.
wait so they just pushed you on 1:03 and it flew up by it self?
No the glider is accelerated via a whinch, the wingrunner only holds the wings Level because moast sailplanes only have a Singular gear in the middle
@@MauriceGauder oh okay thank u
1st one here
I want this winch 😢
I didn't see a motor or a tow aircraft, so that must be one hell of a winch ffs. I think he said 800m. Depends on what you're 800m above and around really. They're just rubbing it in for the video.
Any winch with Dyneema cable (steel cable would become too heavy) and large enough drums can do that. The issue is to have a strip with 2500-3000 length available to lay out the cable on that distance. That is the real bottleneck.
🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤
황홀한 비행입니다. 한국에는 활주로 조차 없습니다. 넓은 땅이 부럽습니다.
one of the best ways to appreciate Gods creation. Thanks for the journey. One day I will appreciate it like that also.
Blessings
Incredible scenery, amazing landscapes, glacier etc…
In order to keep hlobal warming below 1.5C, we need to reduce our co2 emission by7% every year till 2050 till it reaches 2T per person.
Currently stands a 10T per person per year in Europe, 21T in the us.
As a matter of comparison, a single transatlantic flight in economy seat for 1 person emits 2T co2.
Just consider the amount europe-NZ… 3x the amount?
So In order to admire this landscape (that you destroy) you burnt probably 12 yrs of your co2 contingent.
