Lift the GOLD DUMBBELL, win $500 (public challenge)
I absolutely love the public challenges, they're so entertaining!
Glad to hear it mate 👌
Facts
he ripped them , check world records out on same thing, all hes achieving is damaging these competitors trying for money
@@4trademe2 ?
I definitely want to see a part two. Someone has to be able to lift this with one hand
Where is Anatoly the cleaneer?
He can’t do it his hands are too small
We need a part 2 for sure 💪🏻

Gotta get Brian Shaw out there 😂
That's what I was thinking! I honestly don't think there's many people on the planet that can do this one hand, what it is like 150kg? That's just ridiculous!
Another channel did one where they were lifting 235lb and I didn't have one so I made one out of a tricep bar and put 100kg on it and lifted it quite easy and the bar was smooth with no knurling so I think I could get 235 but 330lb? Sheeeeeit.
Came here to write this myself… saw yours and thought I would comment on this to say I agree 😊
Same thought. Shaw has the strength and hand size to do it if anyone can.
Martins Licis just did 4x rows with that golden dumbell.
If its 150kg than I can lift it. I lifted it last week at the gym.
leonidas arkona rowed it 15 times with strap one handed, i am quite confident he can get one clean lift without a strap. generally many people above a certain level of strength could get it, but we are talking absolute elite athlete level here, pro competitor or otherwise full time building strength. 150kg onehanded is somthing most people can never get no matter how much they juice.
Crazy to think Mateusz Kielskowski has pressed a 150kg dumbell overhead with one arm
Literally insane

I reckon Mark Felix might of got it - he’s got massive hands and crazy grip strength. He wins lots of the WSM events that require grip strength.
100% he'd get it
Julius Maddox aswell
Brian shaw

Today we ask random people to do a lift 56lbs over the world record. This is how little the dude thinks his videos throu kinda sad honestly
I think the grip will always be the limiting factor for a one handed deadlift.
I would like to see a climber try it!
Then...Anatony enters the floor, saying can I clean here😂😅
Why did Phil not get involved 😭 I’m sure Kai could lift it 🤣
He should have said that to him 😂
Hahaha! Imagine if I’d said that
Should said Kai said you can't lift these dumbbells Phill
love the competitive energy in matt , like the first guy moved it all bit he was so frustrated he had to try it again and excited when he done it😂😂. just the lil kid in all of us

Pathetic

@@kane2440 Its a 500 dollar challenge, stop being a sore loser.
Brian Shaw, Tom Stoltman and Mark Felix are my picks to be able to do this. Massive hands and strong af
Mark Felix would do it in his sleep; but this is more fun when its aimed at the general public and gym goers... Just highlights their weakness on grip!
😅 they're strong but in terms of grip strength 💪 no one beats Levan Saginashvili
@@gentilewarrior lol levan doesent have the top grip strength
Well yeah. and six or seven years ago Eddie Hall could probably have done it. I doubt Hafthor could, because he has had trouble with grip strength in his right hand I think, for most of his career. I think it was nerve damage or some such thing. If Magnus Ver Magnusson trained focused on it for a year, I think he could have done it. Despite being well into his fifties.
Shaw for sure
Matt sounds like Prince Charming from shrek
post more of this public challenges mate! its gonna blow your channel....i found out about your channel through that 100 kg dumbell challenge and now i am in love with your content and your great sense of humor......🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

I was hoping you were setting this up for Brian Shaw to saunter in at the end, say "are you done with this?" and then start shoulder pressing it for reps.
Hahaha! Would’ve been so good mate
Haha I was thinking Brian Shaw as well
I mean he and his pals did those stones in Scotland, surely they could do these dumbbells after something like that?
Someone like Brian Shaw should be able to get it.
Yea for sure mate
Not many "someone's" like Brian Shaw tbf lol
Bro would probably curl it then press it for 10 reps
Maybe not
Lol. That's 330lbs
@@deadnan5224 no one can.curl.this db Lol. Not yet anyway
225 is the max I've ever done. I'm interested in trying this one , my grip strength would be my biggest advantage. That weight though...
wow
The trick is your hands must be freakishly huge to wrap your hands around the handle. The handle diameter. The original challenge is to raise the dumbbell above your head. Thomas Inch invented and lifted the “ Thomas Inch Dumbbell” and it took 100 years before another man ( Mark Henry ) to lift it.
Matt with the humble flex at the end. Putting that back on the rack was pretty impressive, even with two hands.
😉
How the hell does one of the biggest youtube bodybuilders miss the chance of having Phil Freaking Heath on his channel like that!!!!!
Didn't get a chance mate 😢
@@MattDoesFitness Big love though, keep up the grind!
Theres a guy called Leonidas Arkona in Germany. Rly strong guy. Saw those the first time in one of his videos but he rowed them. Absolutely insane
Haha! That's nuts
@@MattDoesFitness he rowed them 12 times ruclips.net/video/uNzzzpkmdT8/видео.html
@@MattDoesFitness Yeah but not just once, he rowed them 12 times. With straps tho but still insane. The title of the video is "12x die Goldenen 150kg Dinger rudern (sauber)" if you want to look it up. Maybe you can invite him for a challenge one day :)
Prime Ronnie Coleman: ,,Easy peasy lemon squeezy" 😂
Anatoly could lift it.
BE HE TAKES MR. MUSCLE 😂
Getting it back on the rack was the most impressive lift of the day.
Haha! Thanks mate
I think him one handing it with straps was more impressive
Love these challenge videos, Matt. Keep 'em coming!
Nice one mate & will do 👌
Brian Shaw, 4x World's Strongest Man, is the man for the job. Freakish grip strength
Here is my fav man from internet Damian, omg can t believe it, I still follow his workout days for every muscle group and its a work amazing, glad to see after 7 years
I think that you would need to be able to deadlift or squat 700+ pounds on a bar to be able to lift this 330 pound dumbbell with one hand. Doing a one legged squat or dumbbell deadlift with one hand would be harder than using both hands or legs on a bar with twice the weight. I was very impressed that Matt could lift the dumbbell with 2 hands. That is serious strength.
Yea, big hands is also extremely important
@@MattDoesFitness Big SHow then, or Rowdy Devon bloke.
Even with a 700+ DL I think it's too much for the grip since people doing a 700+ lbs DL do it with straps or at least chalk.
Its not a weight issue, its a grip strength issue. Almost no one is going to be able to lift that dumbbell with one hand.
This feat is more about grip strength. I have done a strapless 305lb one-arm deadlift (between legs). At the time, I was only able to deadlift 380lbs. My grip strength was disproportionately stronger as I was training for arm-wrestling and could close a 250lb gripper. A person with world-class grip (300lb gripper) could certainly lift this dumbell.
You should do a collab with will tennyson, you guys are my 2 favourite channels and both funny as hell
The Connections (2021) [short documentary]
And there’s a 23 yrs. Old that is doing rows with that
If you see a cleaner in a blue jumpsuit with shaggy black hair and a beard...he can do it easily!
I like such contests! this motivates people to go to training later
Great to see Will Tenny making an appearance. You should’ve got Phil Heath to give it a try too! :)
Don’t think Phil was keen mate 😂
To see Damien Patrick was a shock. To see him not lift it was an even bigger shock; thought he'd be the one. Still a cool unexpected cameo.
The Connections (2021) [short documentary]
I'm confident I could likely at the very least come close if not get it. Only issue is there's no gym in my area that even has a dumbell that size lol. I'd love to try it though
I’m fairly confident myself. I see plenty of guys stronger than me in this video failing, but challenges like this is where I shine as I have very large hands (easily palm a basketball) and legs.
I would have raised that dumbell as my child, taught it to read, sent it to school, cried when it graduated and be there at its wedding. It would be easy
Better luck next time. Good to see the video still up. Thought we would have a last minute winner.
I know I could pick it up with 2 hands, but i could see how impossible this would be with no straps or even just chalk. Be fun to try it to see how I can't do it though lol.
Right now only person I could possibly see doing it is Mark Henry. As only 1 other person besides him to lift the 1 in dumbell.
Great video Matt your challenges are getting crazier and crazier your the best Matt thanks for sharing your videos I enjoyed this video have a nice day ❤
Appreciate the support as always mate
Anatoly can lift this with ease 😊
Perfect pair of dumbells for Brad Castleberry to do a lateral raise with. Also a tricep kickback. Probably too light for him to do chest flys, though.
Levan Saginashvili the Georgian Hulk. He eats that for breakfast - easy for him. A lot of the top arm wrestlers could do this.
Matt you are a legend mate.💪🏾
You're too kind mate
@@MattDoesFitness bro you have the power to reply to anyone! That's crazy
Yes!! Love these type of challenges you do 👌
WOO! Thanks Hayley
Nice
After watching this, it got me to try as much weight I could get on a dumbbell at home. 95kg in plates and I haven't lifted anything in 3 years. But wow even 95kg was heavy. 150kg would be like me lifting myself.... Not happening. Love your energy and weird video's, keep up the challenges
Ah nice one mate 🙌
Not smart you have to train before you lift as heavy as you can without injuries
with straps, but still impressive "World's BIGGEST Dumbbell - 330 POUNDS OF SOLID GOLD Big Boy"
'Andre the Giant' would have picked it up like it was a toothpick.
I was just scared the whole time someone was going to drop it on their feet
Its nice to see matt not in a vest to make myself feel better 🤣 #morsiamember
Haha! 🙌
I think technique has a lot to do with it.
Obviously I’d never be able to lift such a weight but when I was doing dead lifts I found it easier if I tilted my head back and stared up rather than down at bar or even straight ahead.
Weird I know.
I also found bench press easier if I lifted my feet off the floor and pulled knees up like as if doing crunches.
When I used to have feet firmly on floor I found I was arching my back and driving feet into floor.
Which I found was
Wasted energy or at least re directed.
Anyway what do I know?
Her not wearing shoes at 4:55 made me so incredibly anxious
I already did that challenge! I not only lifted it, but curled 15 reps! The guy didn’t pay me, so I dropped it on his foot!
Now when you go to that gym and you see this guy limping, you’ll know why!
Imagine the CCTV catching the night cleaner guy doing one-handed series with it effortlessly.
BIG BOY from STRENGTH CARTEL
Dude said "not so bad with 2 hands"
Bro you got it 1" off the ground.
The "oh my back in the beginning was timed too perfect"
Leonidas Arkona would have done some upright rows or even dumpbell flys😅
You had the dude walking behind you that you were looking for.
Being able to get it back on the rack is absolute beast mode strength
Anatoly after seeing 330 lbs : ROOKIE NUMBERS
Khaled jashell can do it, he did the millenium dumbbel record.
Big Boy and Kali Muscle. BIG BOY flung it up high. One hand. They both did it. Plus got kicked out of Gold's for doing it right when the dumbells were newer.
John Brookfield, the inventor of the battling ropes, could lift that with one hand and he's in his early 60's. He lives in North Carolina. He has a couple of books on grip strength as well.
I see only one way to do it without strap, but it feels like a cheat...
1. One handed, pivot the dumbbell to have the bar standing up. (turn the dumbbell on the side)
2. Grab the top weight (try different ways) to lift the dumbbell.
I'd love to see Anatoly walk up in his blue overalls and start hammer curling the hell out of it.
330 pounds damn, even Ronnie Coleman himself only used 200 pounds dumbbells. I guess he really was right about them being "light weights baby!"
Part 2 in Dubai with Larry Wheels and Khaled. You might need extra cash 🤣🤣
Leonidas Arkona... A german beast allready rowed it.
when i was a boy scout in the 70s the Guinness world record holder Paul Andersen came and did a demonstration in a church auditorium. he drove a large nail through a 2 inch piece of lumber with his bare hands and did a one arm snatch and press above his head with a 257lb dumbbell, and one other feat which i forget but Wikipedia lists a One-arm side press: 380 lb
Imagine Larry wheels just walked in
This is great. In 1920 the one-handed deadlift world record was attained by Hermann Görner with 664lb or 301kg, so this is only half that much
🤓
Where's Andre the Giant when you need him!!!💪🤣
Was expecting schwazzenegger at the end lol
then cbum walks in and lifts it as if it's nothing XD
Phil heath in the back ground mocking you guys
I was waiting for a guy to walk behind them, curl the one on the rack, and just walk off.
My mind , “how did it got down on the ground from the rack”
Imagine if Chris Hemsworth (Actor who plays Thor) was there and got to lift it.
It's crazy that big boy from strength cartel did one armed bent over row with these
That guy that slammed it down while barefoot... Wtf! On another note, that girl had amazing form.
If you want me to prove I could do this, drop me a first class flight, 5 star accommodation and $5000 spending money and it’s on. 😂👍
The trick is this is a one-arm squat, not an upper-body exercise
Don't use your arms, or your back. 95% of the people are using their upper body
Grip the bar, and its all legs
If you have a strong grip, a strong squat, you can do this
Confident brain shaw could, he has massive hands and loves grip strength. He's lifted the millennium dumbbell
Yeah, those dumbbells probably belong to Thor and he wants them back.
Take the dumbbell to a zoo that has a silverback gorilla and see if he can lift it. Might need to get permission first.
Gold is heavy and it is hilarious when people handle Gold bars in movies like it's made out of aluminum
Martins is the only person I’ve seen lift it with one hand
Eddie hall would lift this like it’s a regular dumbbell
He did that challenge because he knew that he would not easily lose $500. He was scared to lose them $500. Lol 😂
Crazy to think Brian Shaw can over head press a 300lb dumbbell for 2 reps.
Leonidas Arkona from Germany would easily pull it
Udhamjee lifted this dumbbell in gold gym and fortunately at that tym arnold was around and he came to do a handshake with udhamjee
Mark Henry would be my pick to lift it. He was able to press the 1" dumbbell over head.
Kyriakos Grizzly uses these for his warm up
Where have I seen the guy with the long braid before?!?! Drawing a blank!!!
What I want to know is what kind of metal weighs that much in that small proportion?
Sheeesh!! Is that Damien Patrick? One in yellow? Frickin love him!!
I was waiting for Arnold to pull up and start doing reps with them both 😂
I can't do one, but I might be able to do both.
Eta: just went outside to make sure I can still one hand hang. At 350lbs, I can do it on a 1 3/4 pipe.
I want to try this.
The group now in bodybuilding are focused on looks. In my day, we were focused on strength, not how massive you can look.
