Hey, ever thought about asphalt repair / paving / ripping out a driveway and laying down new asphalt? It’s not that satisfying but it looks pretty good at the end for when the old man does jobs.
You can still get coal tar, it went up in price because there’s supply issues now. One of the plants that my supplier uses burnt down over the winter. But it’s still available from my supplier in Pa
Thats why I showed the "5 weeks later" clip. Ideally, you want a perfect surface for the sealer to adhere to, but that's not always going to happen. Using a wire brush and then brushing in sealer CAN give you enough adhesion.
I'm excited for a new video, especially as it's a little longer than some of the others (hey - any extra minute of joy and relaxation counts!). You guys always do such beautiful work, and my counselor thanks you for providing me a source of calm distraction. 😄 I was surprised the homeowners didn't power was the driveway, as there was a fair amount of dirt (hence the title, of course!), and I see you're back to the big blower - it did look like using the backpack blower was putzy on other jobs. Please keep your videos coming (the longer, the better!), and thanks for doing this for us. ♡
@@SEALCOATINGISLIFE Noted....thank you for your response👍and thank you for sharing you vids with us all. Great work in general and precision when it comes to the edges.
Hey, I watch your videos a lot and I've also learned a lot. I was wondering if you knew how FAA approval works for sealer and if you had any advice on how to get it for clients that will only use it. Right now, I'm a small business that uses cold tar sealer from 5 gallon pales and I'd like to evolve from that. If you could help me out, I'd appreciate it.
This is going to be a dumb question but what is the point/benefit in sealing a driveway? I actually like the natural color of the asphalt driveway better but I’m sure sealing it has added benefits.

Sure, if I had the money for all that equipment. That’s very expensive to get started in.
LOVE IT 👏🏽🔥
Thanks
Is this water base seal coating? Looks awesome!
ruclips.net/user/shorts1EH8Q9Rzy-o?feature=share
What is usually more expensive, coal tar sealers or asphalt emulsion? Great work as always!
I don’t think you can get coal tar anymore (or at least there is a finite supply of it). In the years past, I think they were around the same price.
You can still get coal tar, it went up in price because there’s supply issues now. One of the plants that my supplier uses burnt down over the winter. But it’s still available from my supplier in Pa
Never use coal tar
@@daveklein2826 why?
@@chuckfrisoli1170 it's VERY DANGEROUS AND CAUSTIC AND DESTROYS GROUND WATER
So are you using asphalt emulsion now because you think it's a better product or due to the lack of availability of coal tar?
Coal tar has priced itself out of the game where we are. Its a better sell too.
Is it ok to seal over the dirt marks? I see you scrubbed them but shouldn't the sealing been done after they were washed off completely?
Thats why I showed the "5 weeks later" clip. Ideally, you want a perfect surface for the sealer to adhere to, but that's not always going to happen. Using a wire brush and then brushing in sealer CAN give you enough adhesion.
how often does the sealer fade?
Most people go 3 years between applications
Weird question but what kind of rubber boots are you wearing ? Brand ? Thanks
It’s in the description
@@SEALCOATINGISLIFE wow thanks didn’t realize that. Damn you make brushing look so easy
Thank you
Looking good! You using sand in your mix?
Lots of sand. Around 500 pounds in a full tank (550 gallons).
What kind of sealear are you using i have heard that cold tar sealer is hard to get now
Check the description
Do u like the emulsion better or have you used it the whole time we just swithched to it up here in michigan this year

I noticed that you often work/move in synchronised ways when working together. Do you speak to each other or it's the chemistry between you two?
Pure chemistry. My partner takes the lead, and I am reacting off of him.
@@SEALCOATINGISLIFE Good to hear this! Keep up the great work! 👌
Do you go back to remove the caution tape, or is that the customers responsibility?
Customer
It looks rich, do you have a coating material preference.
Asphalt Emulsion
Good 👍 teamwork 👏
What is the life expectancy of that liquid you are applying on the drive ways and what is the min and max thickness to apply
There’s no one answer. Every driveway is different. This one shouldn’t need another seal until 2-3 more years.

Theres no such thing as a dumb question. Check the video description for more information.
awesome work! how long do you tell the customer they have to wait before they can walk and drive on it? Thanks!
24 hours to walk, 48 to drive
I heard you need to wait 6 months to a year before seal coating new asphalt. Is this true?
Yes. I would say a minimum of 6 months before sealcoating.
How do you find clients for this? Was it a hard journey?
Yes. There’s definitely ways to to network now that weren’t around before. But if you do quality work, the jobs will sell themselves. 😎
WOW - you guys make it look easy. I know it's not.
It’s not too bad when the weather is nice.
