You know it's pretty interesting seeing a princess go through PTSD as she lives with the king/prince. It does provide a bit of drama since she does want to be with him but somethings, even little things, could trigger her horrific ordeal with her father. Glad she got a happy end, she deserves it.

Crazy as I think my latest PTSD fog that I’ve been in, has been flashbacks and repressed memories of what my life was like until my father left us, when I was 13. Finally feeling back to normal, but wow. Crazy I just read that.

@mississippimillionaire3790 ...No? They weren't depraved? They were recording the folk and fairy tales of their times, which were usually cautionary tales told by women to their children. The stories were bleak because they reflected a bleak world. For example, this story has a father going insane and seeking to marry his daughter because people _do_ go insane and some parents _do_ abuse their children. But the protagonists find happy endings because they are good have faith that things will work out--in fact, the Grimm Brothers sometimes changed the stories' endings to be _happier._ Judging the Brothers Grimm to be bad people just because some characters (especially villainous characters) do bad things is a shallow, anti-intellectual take on stories as a whole.

Wow I’m in my 20s but I used to watch this cartoon and loved it. I just realized now that the story is about incest and sexual abuse😮 mind blowing tbh

It's a beautiful story it you actually watched it, the princess learns to trust again even tho she suffered trauma from her abusive father

@@magicalpasta5462 ..... They could've illustrated that point without having the father lusting after his own daughter and LITERALLY chasing after her to get her to "Be with him" and "Be his queen" ... And repeatedly going back to that throughout the story.... A lot of these stories are really dark-themed.. Fine for adults, but hard to believe these were geared toward little kids... But then again, considering where these stories originated from, I shouldn't be too surprised..

@@donaldwatson8883so? snow white stepmother try to kill her and try to took her heart, hansel and gretel was about to get eaten by a witch. What matter is how the story treat such act. They did not glorify it, in fact they depicted it as it was a very bad thing, which it is.

7:26 I just realized that this girl also has the the exact same golden curley hair. Was the king only looking for women with beautiful golden hair in his own kingdom? If so than he probably wasn't looking that hard for all those years.

Its famouse tale. Actually the king wife before she died ask the king to promise to marry a women who is more beautiful than her ( i dont know the reason for that request but maybe she want to make difficult for him to find a cruel step mother for the daughter) after many years searching he couldn't find some one matching his latest wife beauty except his daughter. Of course the daughter ask a fairy what to do so first ask adress like stars than second asked a dress like moon after that a dress like sun so she thought it will be hard mission for her father but every time she ask for something he did it. The father have a donky who loves very much because if feed her nice food she'll give you gold. So the fairy told her to ask the father to kill the precious donkey and give her the skin to make a dress which he did. So finally she decided to take her things and run of course wearing the donkey skin which making everyone mocking her. You know the rest and the king have mother who refuse to marry this dirty girl but he still want her. In the wedding her father apologized for his insane behavior and they lived happily ever after . I notice they change it from donkey to dogs/fox. I heard its french fairy tale originally. 🥰
