Hello! I liked your project. Here in Brazil I have an Up TSI (ea211 - 3 cylinders 1.0 and we drive with about 240 whp), I currently work at Bertoline Motorsport, my Up had an intercooler for 5 years, I never had any problems and I only sold it because I wanted to change the project. What I noticed is that the sensor for pressurization of the 1.0 TSI and 1.4 TSI is before the TBI and before the Watercooler, after installing the intercooler you need to move this sensor to AFTER the intercooler and before the TBI. I think the parameters will improve because the air gets colder after passing through the intercooler, unlike if you leave the sensor before the TBI. The temperature difference is VERY different. Good luck...
awesome stuff mate, cars coming along so well! I think doing some suspension mods and wheels to make it handle better will really make it so much more fun to drive around too! Dont forget brakes lol
Hello my friend I have some questions I have the same car the 1.4 facelift ea211 it is stage 1 rtmg intake full downpipe exhaust and it is remapped ,I want to put an intercooler,do I need to get a bigger turbo or it doesn’t matter if it has the stock turbo and will it need to get remapped again?
Hey, no you can go straight for an intercooler setup on your stock turbo, it might help get you a bit more power. But log your current temps first to see if you even need to.
They are a pain to rebuild front end, our business is doing just that and let me tell you you’d be surprised how many bolts are seized on them even 5 years old never mind 10 15.
No. Single turbo come stock with 150hp. Twin charged one was only in the Polo GTi and the Ibiza cupra of the time and weirdly the Audi A1 as well. 180hp
@Em_Ligman That's amazing I'm waiting ur next video.. The torque 330 nm But that not continues... Why.. i think the air intake temperature become hot so the last run it's give me 207hp🤦🏻 in 1.6 bar But I'm looking forward to 4 things 1 delete agr and catalyser 2 delete hot water line in the throttle body 3 install WMI kit. 4 decrease the thermostat temperature to 76 C⁰
Hey man, I’ve ordered the denso ixu27s off your website. When I tried the NGKs, two different sets, they caused my engine to start misfiring, for whatever reason. Any tips for how to prevent that happening with the denso ones? Did you need to adjust the gaps of them at all or was it just plug and play? Cheers mate, been the bane of my life this spark plug malarkey🤣
@@Em_Ligmannice one about the spark plugs. As for the ignition coils, there’s potential for it to be them, or anything really such as fuel injectors. Me and my mechanic looked on the obd and I have a couple misfires, literally 1-2, but nothing that’s affecting how the car drives. So first port of call is spark plugs and if they don’t work or don’t solve the misfires, ignition coils will be next, then fuel injectors. Hopefully, it’s just needing new spark plugs. @@Em_Ligmanexactly mate it just gets unsavoury money wise from there hahah you’ll know more than anyone, loving the progress btw you and Bart are a quality team!
@@5fake yes. But the stock intercooler is inside the intake manifold. The water intercooler is used in a lot of cars recently because is more eficient but less friendly with modifications. The stock intercooler in this case is almost overpased with that power so he needs a bigger one. But this doesnt mean that air intercooler is better than water intercooler. just for example, bugattis comes with water intercoolers. both oh them have advantages and disadvantages.
Yes exactly! This basic air-to-air system setup we installed just happens to be better than the stock watercooler. But if we was to go all out with a fancy watercooled system with a seperate pump, rad, maybe an ice tank in the boot, it would very likely be far better than this air-to-air FMIC setup.
Funny unmentioned those bumper brackets and fake ones bending, as my facelift bumper brackets arrived today… from Ali express… might have to see about getting some from vw😂

Can you check the compressor the turbo? Doesn't sound right to me.
Sounds like a boost leak. I had similar type of noise.

No, this is the more modern EA211 1.4 TSI, not the EA111 twin-charged model.

Sounds like air leak on the intake to turbo side. Exact same sound as my brothers RS3.
Can you get some data on the air and watercooler combo? 😁 because i think its a fun and maybe good combo
