My dad lives in Northern Va, a lot of congress and senators live there. It’s definitely not like that, in most of N Va.
NORTHERN VA is every bit as expensive as it is gorgeous. People fail to realize that assuming VA in its entirety is all the same. Not so. Southern vs. Northern is like night and day.
I want to thank you for making my day. Lmao 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Can you imagine the maintenance, gardener, pool, maids and utilities that comes with this size of home/property
You would be fricken surprised. I'm sure some have all that..but I went to school with some extremely wealthy friends. They had many chores. Cleaning, gardening, cutting grass and maintaining ponds, pools and hedges. Granted, my friends did do it. They really had no choice. Their parents were never ever home. Always away on business, or vacationing. Those homes were laden with drunk teenagers, sex, and drugs during those parental excursions....😢
Property tax too
@mistyblue526 there's a whole sub-industry dedicated to servicing these communities in Northern Virginia and Maryland. Landscapers, mobile car repair detailing, au pairs, pet care, contractors, pool maintenance etc. If these people decided to downsize and live more humbly other people wouldn't be able to make their living off of them.
Taxes over all you named its expensive to look rich

Who cares -- that is a whole lot of upkeep -- essentially their life is tied to their material possessions as is their personal validation ! I grew up in real money and this is not it. No thanks!
How the hell would you know about somebody’s finances? What a stupid comment.
I watched this about ten times. 😂

I used to live in Northern Virginia. Yes, the homes are beautiful!! We had to move further down closer to Winchester to buy a 600k home which would have been 1.4M in Northern VA.
Politicians, military industrial complex, lobbyist, CIA, FBI, Agency heads. ..
The wake up moment is when you realize that's just the summer home.
Actually winter homes
Nah summer homes. They fly south during the winter or to the islands
Nobody in their right mind would choose northern Virginia for their summer home. It’s disgustingly humid. I lived there and hated every second
Your questions are so hilarious 😂😂 But realistic

Good Question, does make you wonder !!!
It’s not their questions…. It’s a sound used by probably over a million people by now.
They’re called doctors, professors and lawyers. They offer those skills in college classes..
Check out the homes and country clubs in Mission Hills, Kansas and Leawood, Kansas, as well as Pembroke Hill High School and read up on the history re: JC Nichols, the development of UMKC, etc.

Never envy the people that live in the HOUSE ON THE HILL...They have a longer way to roll when they are falling down. ❤My Mother RIP
Such good advice ❤
Wise mom...
The folks on the bottom of the hill always look down on the folks on top. Always been that way.
The mother of Alvin York
I do not look down on anyone. That is not the point. I would like to have enough money to buy the paint and fabric for my bedroom. It's a mobile home and needs new underpining. We would just like to be able to afford the upkeep of what we have! It's not greed like rich people have. It's more like, we need to fix this so we can live here the next 20 years! Guess what?
We cannot afford a darn thing because necessities are so outrageous right now, we have to put off the things we need, for year after year! People like you wouldn't get it because you a greedy heartless 🍑🕳 just like these people who are building these mansions. There's a difference between being jealous of someone about something and trying to understand why it seems like life is moving on without you. Everytime the economy has been "good" we still struggled. It's always something.
Ya but in this scenario, a longer hill is much better because you have the money, or time to grab something to break your fall. A person with a short hill will highly likely hit the bottom harder.
My boss had a house like that and told me if I really applied myself, worked hard, put in the extra hours, and did a great job, he'd buy another house like that next year!
Nothing like a southern Virginia accent! My thoughts exactly sister!!

Several part-time jobs couldn't afford the maintenance of the pool. LOL..
In that particular neighborhood, most of them sell things that cost a million dollars apiece and explode.
I live in northern Virginia and you wouldn’t believe how astronomical the prices are for those houses. I move my ass to the countryside and have a nice three bedroom townhouse for 1200 a month.
Niceeeeeeee and definitely way better of course!!!!!!
The smallest ones here I bet are $5mil minimum and not including HOA etc
WOW fantastic, $1200! I am in a 1 bedroom apartment at $1400 a month!! Looks like it's time to move!

It's called generational wealth. They don't push their kids out from house when they are 18, they teach them how to grow money and leave it for their kids.
No that's lobbyist and politicians.
Shit they could afford to because most of them grew up rich themselves. It's hard to leave generational wealth when companies and the government work to keep you in poverty and give the 1% everything , especially don't take taxes from them.

I started building those houses back in 2001 in Haymarket and now its completely changed.

I’d bet that they do. They probably work 80-100 hours a week in a highly specialized field. They are likely mortgaged to the hilt and have no family life.
Numerous ways to own these houses by being a congressman ,legislative Director, Chief of Staff, judges, attorneys, etc in DC. And taking taxpayers money, inside trading, packing each other’s pockets with favors, etc.

This isn’t corruption. They pay more in taxes a year than you make in a year. They contribute to society way more than you.
