The way I view it is you are going to spend a bunch of time in each region due to the pace of backpacking. I saw too many hikers in 2016 let the days fly by down south until they had a moment of realization of just how far they still had to go.
Saturday, February 10th: Today is the Chinese Lunar New Year, Year of the Dragon! Wishing you all the best! Sorry to hear about the deer accident. Praying your graft goes well. Good luck! Happy Trails! Ross08
I am looking forward to following you on your journey. Your approach to this hike is refreshing. Great "loose" strategy. Nothing in stone but you have a plan, so to speak. Best wishes and looking forward to it.
Just start slow first 500 miles watch your steps loose rocks are under the leaves , you could roll your ankle, get your legs first don't bother trying to keep your feet dry step in the puddles and learn to listen to your body
Looking forward to following your hike! Best of luck
Thank you!
Like your mindset. One blogger from last year regretted taking it easy down south and struggled up north. Probably lots do the same too.

Thank you! Implant is in. The car was a bummer but I can always buy another one in the future.
Excited to see the hike, I hope to do mine in 2026, I will be 49 and imagine I will be one of the slow ones at first :P
Thank you! No problem with starting slow. I just think you need to be deliberate with your intentions from the start. I wish you the best for 2026.

Thank you! Only way to go with something this big. Have an idea of what you want to do but be flexible as things change.
Good luck with your implant. Looking forward to following your journey.
Thank you so much! Implant is in and everything is good so far. Look for an update soon.

Absolutely. I will start with what my body allows and go from there.
