Here is a comprehensive walk around and mini review of my 2007 Mazda MX5 NC Sport. This video is designed to give those who are new to the MX5 a brief idea of what its like to own one.

Love my 2007 NC. Superb to drive. Comfy as on a long trip. Mine has the electric convertible top, which I highly recommend over the soft top.
Does it lose much space, as in the trunk?

Hi nice video. Just one thing: 6:27 "air intake box" - you're pointing to the fuse box cover. The air intake and air filter is to the left of the fuse box. All the best, Rob

I actually found it relatively easier to move aside the washer fluid bottle to access the RH headlight, and to remove the air intake box and move aside the fuse/relay box to access the LH headlight. Not spades easier, but not as complicated and painful as going through the wheel arch or removing the bumper.

Roger Wittekind: ‘Super comfortable on long journeys’...not by a long chalk! The reviewer got that bit wrong. I’ve had mine over 2 years and anything over 30 miles gets really tiresome due to the wind and road noise from the rear end, but it is absolutely terrific on twisty back roads. 👍🏼
@@56Gumball I've driven mine from southern Arizona to northern California and back, and enjoyed every mile of it. Not much you can do about the wind noise, but a heavy blanket thrown behind the seats helps quiet the road noise.
@@56Gumball I got my NC2 last November, and it has been a very comfortable cruiser. Maybe you are too tall for it.
At 6:27 the air intake box you point to is the Fuse Box.
I won $20 usd betting a guy I could have the roof reset from up & locked to locked down in 2 seconds or less.
When you release the center lock lever all you have to do is give it a healthy push and it slams down & locked almost instantly without causing stress nor damage.
Kudos for not slamming the top back. The top is held in place by a single hook and latch, tough Delrin plastic but plastic nevertheless. It WILL fatigue and break over time. Mine failed while parked. Imagine a top opening up at highway speed...I've loved my '06 for 9 years now.
Where the hell do you limeys get "boot" and "bonnet" from, a boot is worn on one's foot, a bonnet is what a lady wears on her head :) Just yanking your chain, mate, I'm going to go get a pint and a crumpet, join me when you find your "boot/s." Well done video, cousin, I just bought a 2008 Miata Grand Touring Edition (30K on the clock) same exterior color as yours, but tan leather and Bose CD and speakers. Best driving car I've ever owned. Take the clubs out of the golf bag and pack them in separately, they might fit.
Got an "06, same color even. Disagree about the headlight. Open the hood and bend your neck like an owl. You can see the headlight backside no problem. I swapped a bulb out in 5 minutes. Otherwise this is the best car I've ever owned. Still can't believe no spare tire though.

6:13 you'll want to keep a close eye on that coolant expansion tank and maybe even just replace it before you start having issues. It's part of the pressurized system, and the tanks have a documented history of failing and destroying engines in the 3rd generation MX5 only.

Great video thank you looking at a 2008 for my wife 1.8 how does it behave in the wet with the rear wheel drive is it twitchy or do you not notice ..thanks again great video 👍🏻☮❤

You forgot about the little cubby holes behind the seats. I use mine to store my CEL code reader and a few rags for checking fluids.

Hi dude, thanks for the nice informative video, was after a similar car, MX5. wonder if you have any advice regarding 2010 version hardtop VS new 2017 one! with the older one I don't need finance but have option between Kendo and sport, Kendo being nicer to look at but only 5 speed gear box. Hope you can give me some advice! :)
In terms of the older model I would choose a sport all day everyday, lsd, suspensions and 6 speed box is worth it's weight in gold! I have not had much experience with the new model, they are lovely to look at but the lack of a dual sided exhaust is an issue for me! 😂
@@slingbart705 It doesn't have to be a v8 for dual exhaust. A turbocharged 4 cylinder would probably also require them I imagine (depending on displacement, boost etc.).
I think the guy just prefers the look of dual exhausts, which I absolutely have to agree with. It's just more pleasing to look at.
@@gogox98 YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT DO YOU?, both exhaust tips come out of the same "one and only one" muffler. the car would perform the exact same with one tip or two tips, it is strictly a cosmetic thing. What i am ripping him on is the FACT he said he would not buy this car if it didn't have dual exhaust, (and it doesn't because it's only a 4 CYL, A V6 or V8 might have a true dual exhaust.) which then would be his loss of owning a great sports car because if it only had 1 tip. SMH
Do you think the Honda Civic Type R had triple exhaust because it has 3 tips out the back? just 4 bangers turbo with a single exhaust.

Not bad, the NC2/3 2009+ have forged internals over the NC1 so more reliable. Ask if it has the suspension package. I love my PRHT, paid $9k for my 2007 touring non sport suspension package with 70k miles.
Paid 4k less for same miles on 06 gt so.. and that was at dealership their price

I never had a single issue with my mx5! I went to a bmw after it and it gave me a lit of trouble! if you want care free fun motoring then an mx5 is the way to go 😁😁😁
