You guys should come back to California in late November, drive to the Elephant Seal beach in San Simeon. Its just North of Hearst Castle. In November the males fight each other for beach territory. The biggest ones should be there in late november. Look it up online. San Simeon elephant seal beach. Elephant Seals are much bigger than those sealions. They match necks up against each other and try and tusk joust from that position. And they roar a lot. Any seals are mainly only interesting when they are fighting for mates. Because they just lie around any other time and look like a bunch of big sausages left out in the sun.

It is purposely inefficient in order to slow the descent down the road due to how steep it is. Similar to how skiers or snowboarders go from side to side rather than straight down to limit the speed on a steep hill.
