This weather is definitely unbelievable. Your calves are looking good though. They look so comfortable in their nice and dry calf shelter

I hope the premature calf can stay in the barn for at least a couple of weeks. It will take time for him to catch up in weight. Good job!

Down here in Iowa, we deal with the freeze and thaw cycles constantly we have found cornstalks work better than straw outside. Round baled cornstalks run thru a bale processor will let the water move downward and keep a firm dry top that doesn't disappear. The upside of constalks also, they don't give the amount of ammonia thT straw does. A baler following corn harvest will yield a tremendous amount of bales in a hurry.

Interesting about corn stalks, in our typical weather the wheat straw works great but when it gets wet it might be nice to have some corn bales around

You might think of calling the calf Micro instead of mini

If people want to do this themselves they can try and see how easy, not, it really is. Maybe they would shut up and stop complaining and being mean.

These cows that calve big calves, calve big calves no matter the bull, most of these cows do them on there own. I like calves around 90-100lbs.

You are very rude to them. The calves are what they are. Do you really think he can that? Be kind!!!
