An elderly woman that I know had her car repo'd after her son took over her finances. He didn't pay her car note for months. I was so angry when she told me this story. Unfortunately, she showed signs of dementia and he took advantage of that. Family can be your #1 worst enemy during trying times.

Its sad but this is why we have to raised our kids well. Teaching them respect, giving them love, taking time with them and praying and reading the words with them.
Adults its to late. The Bible tells us to punish our kids if we love them (and it dont mean beat up)
Many parents see their kids acting out, bad character, addiction, cant stand a work, changing GF or BF to many times, having attitudes. .. and this shows the person heart too. And they dont do anything to it. These kids may have mental issues and need therapy. If they dont go they will act out. Ppl prefere to let them be and later its to late to educate them.
      Acting out comes from something.

The son paid the mortgage for 20 years (the parents paid for utilities, insurance) and gave them a car too. He wanted to gift them this home but lost his job and tried to work it out with his parents but they did not cooperate, and on top of that, now defamed his name very publicly. Now he gets death threats from random people that only saw this one sided news story. The parents should be ashamed of themselves.

One thing I learn on my medical job is to never force kids (adult or young) to fix issue or see their parents.
Because if there is bad relationship sometimes its because the parents were really nasty.
Not saying it is the case. But not every parent is healthy.

My parents have a neighbor and their 47yr old son moved in with them and is literally DRAINING his elderly parents. I had a contact at that time with the adult family service and just one counselor coming to visit the parents made some of the culprits moved away . So many of them moving in with parents not to take care of their parents but to live a life at the expense of their parents . They don’t pay rent, don’t buy groceries, use their parents car and don’t put gas on it and most after moving into their parents home quit their jobs proclaiming they are taking care of their parents . This to me it’s the red flag that needs to be look at it immediately.

My uncle and aunt gave inheritances to their 3 children in life, not upon their death. Because the last born was unmarried, she was inherited their house that they currently still live in. I remember one evening, my parents and I were invited over for dinner and my uncle and cousin were squabbling over something and I clearly heard her tell him "this is my house now so if you don't like it LEAVE". I was stunned. She knew they had nowhere else to go, not because they were poor, but because THAT was their home and was supposed to be till they died! My cousin has since changed the way she treats and speaks to her parents, but I admit it was very disheartening to hear those words come out of her mouth!

It can work both ways… I was in charge of my mothers estate . My mother became older and put her burial policies in her brother and different people names. She started turning against me 😢/ she started not thinking clearly, even my sister was also telling my mother she wasn’t thinking clearly. While I was growing up my mother told me never trusted her brothers and sisters. Bottom line my mother died when I called to get the policy to bury my mother I was told it belongs to her brother and other people. I used every dime I could get from myself and my children to give my mother the best ever funeral. My mother was a beautiful soul to all of them. I put all things in my children’s names and told them to do what they see best. The main part of this story before my mother died I asked her why did she change her policies from my name? She said, I wouldn’t be there for her. I was the only one and I took over my disabled brother so he wouldn’t be homeless 😢

You just put fear in my heart!! My mother wanted to put her house in my name and I also have an autistic brother! I told her I don’t know about that because I didn’t want to be in conflict with my other brother if something happened to her. The home is paid for and in her name. She’s put me down on all her life insurance policies but like, you things can change when the time comes. I help her and my autistic brother out. NO ONE ELSE DOES. She’s already said my other brother was trying to get her to sell her house at a low value. I don’t know what to say to her but we need to see a lawyer for sure. I’m SURE I’ll be caring for my autistic brother if something happens.

I don't understand why her brother would want her to sell the house at a low value (even if he wants the money)? Unless he's clueless or just needs fast cash for something stupid.
If you are the only one to take care of your brother, maybe she could put his "share" into a trust for him (directed/administer by you). So no one can say he didn't get anything. (Although no one is obligated to give anything to anyone). Also, this is not legal advice (not a lawyer).
Good luck hope she lives a happy and long life.

@karlwithak. wrong, I am not suffering. What I said makes a lot of sense if you knew everything. However, this is RUclips smiles. My mother’s brother took all her burial money and left me nothing to bury her. My mother assured me he would never do such a thing. I really can’t get into it. God has blessed me enormously. And I took care of my disabled brother and he just died. I will never forgive my Uncle. However, my mom believed in a good Education and I had the best and handled it 👌🙏🏾

It is truly disgusting and very sad, child or no child to take advantage of someone, especially seniors. This guy, when he becomes a senior, I want to see what happens to him. I can tell you right now, this guy has a special ticket to HELL when he dies.🔥🔥🔥 Shame on him. 😠🤬😡

So it sounds like the son’s name was on title vesting. If the parents signed the mortgage they should have received a copy of the final title policy to ensure ownership. In fairness they may not have known better. Now, it sounds like there was no longer a mortgage owed on the property allowing the son to transfer ownership without requiring the mortgage to be paid in order for the mortgage lien to be released and the ownership transfer to occur. This is all legal technical points.
Now, the son is a POS because it’s clear he knew what he was doing.

It would be good to hear the son’s side of the story. Family issues are long, layered, and deep. Did the parents use his credit, name, and money to purchase the house? Were the parents owing the son a significant amount of money and refused to pay? I got family, they never paid me back the money I borrowed to them and they don’t plan to. And if he is such a bad son, how did they manage to raise a sociopath? If they knew he was evil, they should have never trusted him with their house. There are a lot of scenarios. We need more information.
