Hi! You've got me thinking now! I've used them in many countries over the last 9 or 10 years, and can hardly remember ever getting breakfast There is sometimes Tea and coffee, and maybe salt or cooking oil, but very limited cooking facilities (sometimes just a microwave and kettle). To be honest I generally dump my stuff then head out. I'm not usually a breakfast person, but you're right that something should be provided if they're calling it a Bed and Breakfast! I don't like the ever-increasing list of things the hosts want me to do before leaving! I'd always wash up, but now I've seen requests to strip beds, put out any rubbish, even hoovering before a fairly early out time. Where you are looks fab! I found a stunning place in the Peaks too, with a hostess I'm now friends with. There's definitely pros and cons.

Yes Tracey you are correct! Like you say, all of the extras you get asked to do like emptying the bins etc. A bit like self check out at the supermarket. Doing someone else's job for them 😄 But yes, I feel a little ripped off if I don't get at least the basics like coffee...

I think the world is changing and much of the migration issues are probably affecting how owners want to rent their property. I don't know about England, but in the USA, people have to be careful about how their property is handled. I think what you have there where your staying is wonderful. I was hoping if I ever got the opportunity to visit England, I would stay in a charming place like that with all the hospitality possible.

Yes I believe your are right to a certain extent. But that's what reviews are for. To keep both parties happy.

It's unfortunate but a lot of guests are trashing AirBnBs now and the owners are probably nervous about damage.

Yes that is a sad state of affairs. Why do humans think it's OK to treat other peoples properties different to their own. Baffles me...

That is sad. However, it's easy enough to check out someone's history on Airbnb, and if they have a bad one then either don't accept the booking or take the risk (maybe they're not insured to be renting the property out).

@tlc2112 that's a very good point. I always read the reviews when booking somewhere. It makes sense for the owners to do the same. But I guess they're will always be a first time booker or someone gets drunk and the rest is history...

Yup, and I've stayed in lots of places that I've reviewed, but they don't leave a review on me! 🤔

@tlc2112 that's a little strange isn't it. To be fair most have reviewed me. Oh well, all this being said there's still some good ones out there 😁
