A little tip if you're making a skirt with this method: When you've cut out all those circles, hang them up by the waist for at least a few days, a week or so wouldn't hurt. Fabric cut on the bias will stretch with gravity, you'll need to lay your fabric out and cut it back into a true circle after it has been hung up. If you sew it straight away, you'll probably end up with weird pooling and warping around the hem which will ruin the whole effect and all that hard work. Trust me, whenever you cut any sort of circle skirt, or curved hem, let it hang for a few days and trim it back to the right shape, you won't regret it!

I think the formula you’ll want to use is for a double circle skirt. You should be able to apply those principals to making a longer skirt. I hope that helps ☺️

that's how michael cinco finishes hos full circle skirts, I observed. For added structure, even tacks the ruffles that meet so when the gown is worn and the person walks, it keeps that umbrella structure.

This kind of skirt won't work with a train. It won't flow nicely on the ground.
This skirt is for adults.
You can try by moving the waist from the center, but then it would be shortervin the front.

How do you work out the maths if the material is only wide enough for a quarter circle skirt. Don't say cut out 8 and sew together because if you do that your hem won't be straight (I have a scalloped mock up to assert to that)

Should the cut hole for the waist be half the circumference of the actual waist measurement? Like, when you cut it, if your waist is 40 in, would you make the cutout 20 in? So that when you put them together it comes out to add up to 40 in?
