  • Hay everyone, started a new stick. I really believe it is oak that has been in the water for a long long time. It is so very light! But really a nice stick to work with for the most part.
Really don't have a lot to say this time. I do have a couple of sticks to do. Two that are maple and one that is a flowering pear. So, we will see what I can do with them.
I want to thank everyone that has stuck with me through everything.
Please subscribe, like, and comment. Thank you.

I love how this stick is turning out. The pattern looks terrific and I'm impressed how unafraid you are of using all the colors. It looks great. I look forward to seeing it finished.

Love the idea you have here. You make it look easy. Just say round file. Thats what it is, no need to get fancy ;) Also I think you can dip the tips in acetone (when cool) and that will eat the corrosion off. Im kind of curious on how well the ink will hold over time if the cane/staff is used. Wonder if they have specific paint pens for wood that may say soak into the wood...

To answer your question, there is a top coat that goes over the ink or paint or whatever is used for color.
