GTFOH, you're only allowed one bathroom break at the AO since Tsitsipas started abusing them, which Nadal legally took. He also took medical timeout because he literally had heat stroke out there. Call me when Nadal actually breaks a rule for a real violation, Shapovalov is just a whiner as he's been his whole career.

As a huge fan of Rafa, I have to agree with Shapo. If the server is ready to play, and the receiving player is not, then give him time violation. DO NOT CARE WHO IT IS. The original tennis rules only state that "play must be continuous". The 25 second rule between points is discretionary by the umpire. One of the factors they consider is climate, temperature, humidity. During this match, it was over a 100 degrees on the court and extra time was given to the players to towel off. Plus, players like Roger, Novak and Rafa do get some preferential treatment. They are the stars of the sport and who the fans come to see. Let's be honest, Dennis didn't lose the match because Rafa took 5 extra seconds between points.

If you have experienced this you know what he means. As a rhythm player I totally get it , its mental sabotage to shave time off points and change overs from opponent to throw you off your rhythm. The job of the Umpire is to police that - when a player is losing and suddenly falls 'ill' and then is acting slow this is an obvious case where the Umpire should intervene proactively. It's his job. I do believe that is why Shapovalov lost. The Rhythm in the body is lost when you feel you've been thrown by your opponent for time and its now on their terms that you play.

I see. Dennis lost 'cos Rafa didn't play with the rhythm that Shapo wants. Yeah!! . This is a game where players use his skills. Perhaps Dennis didn't known that Rafa uses his time to the limit...obvious, Shapo never play against him....Nop. but this time Rafa uses much more time between points than the other matches....nop. but this time Rafa uses 30 secs extra to change his sweaty shirt and this cut the rhythm...and makes him lose becouse of that....nop.
      Excuses, excuses, excuses.
Yeah but .the time between 4th and 5th was too much...nop. Just the legal time, and by the way, in slams is very regular to have a break between 4th and 5th, players use to go to the locker room. But this time was Rafa that use that in a very unsportlike way....nop. He sufren a heatstroke and was checkin with doctors.
      Again...excuses, excuses.
Dennis lost. It,s frustrating for him but it hus fault. Don,t look away, see inside. Learn. He won Nadal once, and there were no clocks, and Rafa PlayStation the same way then...and now. So what happenned. Brain my friend. The mental power, suffer capacity, modesty, respect for the game, experience...that what happenned.
      As simple as that.
Dennis lost, Dennis was wrong during and after the match.
