  • Well, as requested from Shrek gaming, the pricing video..
This is by no means what you should charge, it's an investigation and some help as to what the industry average for a mobile DJ in the UK. It's a well known fact, no matter what you charge, there will always be somebody cheaper. It's up to you to stand your ground, charge what you want to get paid.. It's that simple.
Anyway, happy watching and thanks for stopping by on Mobile DJ Tips.
Please feel free to share, like, comment and subscribe and happy DJing.
    Jason

Great video Jason very honest, yes I love to say I dont go out lower than £425 but of course the truth of it is how full is the diary, do I fancy doing it?, When will I get paid. Of course there are plenty that tell me they are a grand and thats the lowest, if thats true well done! but yes im that guy with a day job so I can pick and choose, and I love a walk in no kit, just my laptops etc.... I can be talked into them!

Besides how much, what about per hour vs per gig?

I’m 17 years old, I’m already doing five hour sets at party’s and I don’t think anyone around my age is going to pay me £200

Hi Jason, quick question... mates rates / friends & Families? Most of them expect it for almost free but what would you recommend as an average price for a friends and family party rate? Cheers.

Great question mate. Now this is entirely up to you. I have friends and family rates but they have to understand it's my full time job so can't afford to go lower than my minimum rate. Take it this way, they have to book a DJ anyway so why not pay you instead of them. My family and friends rate is between £200 and £250. Hope that helps. Jay

Pricing depends on where you live... .what you provide...
    And what the client wants.....
But if it's your profession... And you do it for a living. Then ur charging for your labor.. your entertainment on the Mike... Rental of your equipment... And your skill level and experience.
I've been doing it about five years.
    And so I have packages.
450$ is the budget wedding package... Two decks and a mixer ad two basic lights.nd a Mike .. and a professional set up and four hour set... The Price is easy to break down . I charge 100$ per hour.. and then fifty bucks for Gas
But when u ask for monograms.
And dry ice. And other things then the package go up in price. Because my lights are expensive my..my mixer is expensive.. and my time is valuable.. .. that's how u build a reputation as a good professional D.J.

    Interesting point Jason.
Think your figures might be a bit low for weddings.
    UK average is over £700

Not on my investigation mate but I didn't ask everyone in the UK but taking prices from DJ agent and other pages, booking services and DJ providers/DJs in the UK.
