    Used a clam gun before, but never tried dancing around the hole. Interesting technique. You like this method more than a shrimp pump?

      Yes, do the dance and the shrimp pops out! Just press your feet onto the sides. I have the small skinny shrimp pump too, but this technique is the best. Thank you for stopping by to watch and comment. Don't forget to subscribe and checkout our other fishing videos too.

    Do you salt them to use later on and they are firmer to stay on the hook better?

      We sometimes tie stretch string on them to the hook. It all depends if the bite is hot or not.
      Here’s a clip of me baiting shrimp to the hook.

    How do you keep so many shrimp alive for live bait?

    • @pnwf

      Keep it cool on ice, although they do deteriorate fast. Use them up fast or give them away to other fishermen when fishing limit is achieved.

    Can you eat them like regular shrimp?

    • @pnwf
      @pnwf  2 года назад +2

      Hello Chris,
      Although edible, they don’t really have any meat on them. I’ll have to take one for the team and see what it tastes like one of these days. Gonna require some deep frying though. 🤣

    Where did you purchase that clam gun ? The handle / cap looks well built.

      Hi Bobby,
      The clam gun was purchased from Sportman’s Warehouse. It’s great for sand shrimping, but lousy for clamming. I prefer the Claminator I use to make it easy on the back.

      Thanks for the reply, im going after sand shrimp after realizing how easy it is . I've always bought sand shrimp in the valley for salmon fishing, and for targeting salmon here on the coastal river im done paying for it ! So anyhow thanks for the video and the reply !

    You have to buy a license for those shrimps , and you have a limit ?

    • @pnwf
      @pnwf  Год назад +1

      Yes, in Oregon it is required to purchase a recreational shellfish license to gather sandshrimp bait. There is no limit, but your back will be hurting from pumping. Thanks for watching.
