Alec Bohm has improved so much in his fielding. I remember early you would hold your breath 😮 when a ball was hit his way.
Huge improvement. He has really worked hard.
His sophomore campaign was difficult to watch after such a promising start to his career. If he stays hot the rest of the season his numbers should have him in the MVP race. Statistically speaking he's in the top 5 right now

6th inning was the real reason Bryce is great. That whole sequence of taking extra bases secured the tying run.

Harper won the game in more ways than that. The walkoff single was his right, after all the earlier heroics.. His awesome defense, and his plays in the 6th inning were more impressive.

Very resilient performance by both teams.
A lot of people wondered what the outcome of Game 5 of the 2022 NLCS would have been if Josh Hader faced Bryce Harper in that 8th inning instead of Robert Suarez. Based on this walk-off, perhaps it wouldn't have mattered who it was.
Well, this year, Hader has done great in save situations, and not so well in non-save situations (like tonight), even though he did do well tonight in the 9th.
I'll give Hader credit for keeping the Astros in the game until Harper ended it with that hit.
@@craigkarlberg1942 True. It wasn't really his fault tonight. Any time that a team doesn't score in extras with the zombie runner on second, they deserve to lose.
It wasn't about if the result would have been the same. It was more of what a terrible and stupid decision by Melvin to leave Suarez in.

As an Astros fan I can say it was a tough loss, Altuve didn’t start, Tucker still not back but we’ll always be a tough out. Also Mariners fans seriously keep dreaming, 10 game lead and now y’all wishing 🤫these are 2 actual playoff teams playing here, heck I’d love a WS rematch.

As an Astros fan, GG. It was a close game that was fun to watch.
I do believe the Astros have the team to go to the WS and win.. although, there are other teams very capable as well. I believe Pena is alternating a lot to find the right way to play specific teams and if they meet them In WS.. Let's go Stros!🎉
7:30 -- that is one of many reasons the Bryce is such a great player. He takes the extra base on everything he can. His double was from pure hustle; then his getting to 3rd on the groundout secured a run. Harper won the game well before extra innings, because without his efforts here, there would be no extra innings.

Great performance by Zach Weaver. He earns his paycheck. Dombrowski is the best front office executive in baseball.
I will never get tired of seeing Hader lose a game. Very overpaid for a pitcher who can't pitch more than one inning.
Most relievers (especially closers) don't pitch more than one inning. He's paid to close games. In save situations this year he's been almost perfect. Not so much in non-save situations, like tonight, although he did pitch well in the 9th.
