Disclaimer: I make a small commission on any of the amazon links above which costs you nothing extra. All the gear listed is the actual gear I have chosen and use myself.
You don't have to cut the waist belt off. There is another brilliant feature that made me get it right away and I was passing this backpack just because of this... There are pockets just where these waist belts come out and you can tuck them there out of sight. This backpack is unbelievable
You are an angel!! I didn't see that and I will definitely use it.
I just bought this pack &no never noticed half this stuff I'll I came to this review😂 thanks tho if would never have spotted this
This is my best day hike bag. Summer or winter. At this price point I absolutely love the straps for a mat and those trekking poles/ice axe
Just today ordered another one in complete green and now I have three of these❤
I can’t seem to find this bag for sale with the tent straps on the bottom and the Trecking pole loops. Have those features been discontinued?
probably, i guess they made some changes over time.
Yes they have omitted the bottom straps in the newer models sadly.
Ive been Using one of these for over 3 years (older model, back part is slightly different). its definitely been on overnights!! love it and still going strong
I've been using the 20l one for years. I've not been very nice to it and used it a lot. So far NOTHING broke or even shows signs or wear. So I bought the 30l one and the 10l one. These backpacks are virtually for free and they last forever (at least my 20l one).
It's a brilliant bag for the money and decathlon really do make some brilliant gear for not alot off money trust me iv got alot of gear from this brand and it's all quality gear 👍👍👍👍
It is an AMAZING little rucksack which I have carried tucked up free as underseat baggage with compressed gear inside. I walked from Madrid north for two weeks with it on the Camino. The loops are good for pulling when you're bored and fed up with the position. I loved it and it was 17 euros. There is little not to like about this bargain. I hope Decathlon keep the model going.
Just got my little bastard it seems as a great deal. 👍🏻
You can't go far wrong for that kind of money!
Great review man 👍... Please make a detailed review of it...
I like how you compare it with Osprey as I’m obsessed with it.
you could be use in EDC BACKPACK please? How much 14 pounds in us dollars please?where can i buy it online or actual stores please?
I got one of these and its dirt cheap and a good weekender bag that might pass on as a "personal item". Im planning to get another one which I could strap down my tent, chuck in my sleeping bag and some survival stuff and be my go-bag.
Hi Martin, I'm also wanting to carry my Lanshan 2 on the outside of my 34l Osprey as part of a lightweight summer kit. One question, which I am sure has a simple answer, is what is your method of carrying the (very slippery) Lanshan on the outside and keeping it in place?
Hi Paul, you know how the bag the lanshan goes in has the straps on it to comress it, they run down the length of the bag, i put the rucksack straps through them, i also use a caribiner to attach to the bag, that way i know not going to fall off without me knowing.
@@HikingWithMartin Cheers Martin. 👍
These bags are so good for the price. They might be selling these at a loss😂
Great review! I am beginner camper/hiker and will be buying a backpack soon. Thanks!
I think I could get that into the Ryanair bag frame to take on-board without paying silly money for a bag!
Probably yea!
@@HikingWithMartin I'm also interested in know this
The answer to this question is what's brought me to this pack review. I've come across a forum where a reviewer said that this pack passed the size test whereas the Osprey incurred an extra fee. Any conformation?
Good review of the bag....good for hiking...heheh
Nice preview
Can I carry my laptop in it for daily purpose
excellent & well done 👍🙏💯
I’m smashed, and watching this. Every review by a guy with a British accent and dry British humor …. It’s great but it it isn’t , it good at this. But it isn’t . Maybe it’s ok for something else , no commitment , I think this is a great review
thats just how we are, or maybe it isnt.
Nice video 😊
Nice preview.
Just bought this for quick overnighters either with my lanshan or elan bivvy . Thanks for the review .
No problem. Hope you get on with it well!
this is a great review thanks for sharing
you are welcome!
Hi is this backpack big enough for traveling 6 months through asia?
That’s hard to say as I don’t know how much gear you will carry
If it’s not waterproof then you’ll have problems with the humidity and it will rot quickly, and depending what weight you’re carrying that could exacerbate the problem. These are built for day/overnight usage and I don’t think it’d be convenient for a 6 Month journey which I’m guessing will be fully laden weight wise.
Even with replenishing supplies every couple of days, I wouldn't bother with anything other than a 60l or more. This pack basically has to be combined with ultralight gear to work for an overnight camping trip. Two days? There isn't a light enough piece of gear to make that happen with this pack unless you enjoy eating leaves lol. You never know when a piece of gear will fail either. If a core component, such as your tent, fails mid trip, you will have to replace it with whatever you can find nearby. Usually that means a much larger, and heavier substitute. If you are maxing out a pack with light gear and you are forced to replace it with something heavy and bulky, your trip is over.
Good to see you posting again
Thanks, trying to get back to things, not had an easy time have bad PTSD unfortunately.
32£ here in Brazil. 😱
Where? I think that it is more expensive now (in Decathlon Brasil)
Yesterday it increased to £38...
