My first car was a '77 Nova 4 door...tan. My parents gave it to me, and I loved it. I was the only one of my friends who had a car with working A/C. It stalled like a champ with the A/C on. I needed to use the gas and brake pedals at the same time to keep it from stalling when stopped. It drank oil like crazy too, but I didn't care. I was 17, I had wheels, and that trusty Nova took care of me for years. She may not have been the prettiest car in town, but the damn thing always started, and on a hot day, she was beautiful!
Still got my '77 L6 250. Lots of maintainence over the years, but it's still running pretty strong. 198k miles here in 2021... 😁

P.S. The older, simpler cars like the old 60's & 70's 'muscle' cars are good cars to work on to learn about how cars work and how to fix them.

I have a 1976 Chevy nova with the 250 inline 6 with 130k miles and it still runs great. It does have leaking valve guides and smokes when starting but besides that it’s a great car

Yo tengo un nova igual pero 2 puertas motor 6 cilindros esos motores no dan nada de problemas ,mi auto es rojo original recien pintado con aros de corveta y con aire acondicionado lo estoy restaurando poco a poco todavia aqui en puerto rico quedan de esos autos muy pocos pero no vale la pena comprar piezas viejas es mejor nuevas y asi el auto adquiere mas valor.

I had a 76 with 305!I took off those plastic vents off the side and filled them and smoothed them out.fun car.old san jose Mercury's new delivery car still had the numbers on the side!

SWEET...RESTORING MY 78...I GOT A CARB,DIST AND AIRCLEANER AND 2 MOTOR MOUNTS WHAT NOT OUT MY 78 I GOING TO GET RID OF..UPDATED TO A V8..STILL GOT THE BREAK IN OIL IN YET W ABOUT 4 HRS RUN TIME ON MOTOR..CANT WAIT TO GET THINGS PAINTED AND DRIVE....

Mine was painted red. Recently replaced the original tranny vacuum modulater. That finally blew out at 198k miles. That part was painted purple !!

Minor trim differences. '78 had a different steering wheel and a bowtie on the hood.
