I went to feed my goldfish yesterday and there were none. So, I checked my security cameras and found that both raccoons and a blue heron had been looking into the pond. They both have their methods. I only see one or two goldfish left. We had actually purchased material to cover the pond but were procrastinating. Just do it, is now my motto. Just imagine what Pterodactyls did to salmon and other large fish.
FishFreak Why, they wouldn't be able to get all the film footage. Don't you for one second think this wasn't deliberately done, did you not see the camera moving to capture the footage, they were aware in real time!

Too many big fish in a tiny pond poison the water. They start as 3/4" feeder fish and keep growing and growing. The smart fish know where to hide from predators. The heron thins the school and keeps the pond sustainable.
@@FrontYardVideo My fish must be pretty stupid because they all got eaten by the Herons. In live in Ohio and they usually only eat my fish in the spring and fall and leave them alone during summer for some reason.
Had 60 Fish and after one visit from a heron have 12 left. Following day fitted a heavy duty net, then he gets himself caught up in it. Karma is a bitch!!! he won't be eating anymore fish anytime soon!!!
The snack that smiles back
Goldfish
Not sure I could happily film a Heron scoffing my prize fish. Each to their own.
lol
The ad revenue will eventually pay for the fish. Keep on watching.

NA I MORE HAPPY FILMING MYSELF WITH MY 25 CAL PCP AIR RIFLE BLOWING HIS BRAIN OUT
To me this looks like multiple fixed cameras to catch the bird
I love seeing the heron, but seeing him eat all your goldfish is very sad. Please prevent the freeloader from eating all your beautiful fish.
The remaining 7 fish have learned to hide during the day and only come out at night. Watch out for that night owl!
FrontYardVideo you talking like you don't want to keep fish. Your disgusting
金魚ZeZeKingyo im pretty sure those fish procreate in that pond... eventually they would get too big anyways. Stop being so fragile. It’s the cycle man.

All those pretty fish sizzling so effortlessly in that heron's belly. Someone once said, if you think you don't have predators, just wait.

Thank you for uploading the video. I plan to do a garden pond soon and put my oranda goldfish there. Your video make me think of covering net.
I love herons but I would be so sad if this happened to any of my goldfish. I hope you're implementing more defensive measures against predators.
Do you have backup plans should the defenses prove just slightly less than adequate?
Heron: thank you for Christmas treat~
That’s beautiful. It moves like a dinosaur almost.
With that speed the heron would kill me easily 😂😂
I'm looking at the comments that say shoot the bird and they're all making me pissed lmao. Just put a net over your pond.
Putting a net around the pond ? That is no pond at all ! He should use a defensive submarine.
Pik Mak 😂

I lost LOTS of goldfish to herons and Barred Owls. Then I built underwater shelters the fish would hide under. Good Luck!
That's what happens if we humans take away their habitats.
Early Bird gets the worm my ass early bird gets the fat fish
Increíble tomas las de este vídeo. Siempre un placer ver tus trabajos. Un abrazo.
2:52 it just slides down so smoothly
Put a net over your pond. It will prevent this.

A Googler than that cameraman is a dumbass, period..
Mann I would be mad ASF if a heron ate my kois fish. Good thing we have yard dogs.
人情的な感覚で考えると可愛い金魚が食べられてとてもかわいそうです。

それくらいの感覚でしょう。
もっとも私もこの動画を見ててもかわいそうというより食欲が増進されましたが。
LOL, watched it eat all your fish and just videod it!
One of those bastards ate all of my goldfish a wile back. I was so mad.
The mailman at end tho. Like wtf
Sounds like a crow tried and succeeded in chasing him off, good looking out Mr crow! 😉
that's the circle of life, besides, goldfish breed like crazy so your not missing out on much!
It is a living Kung Fu fighting form.
If it took lots of small fish, probably regurgitated them into a nest for its heron chicks. Still sad though

Good way to get rid of extra fish :)
what a waste, some of those fish were probably over 4 years old... just to get eaten like that - could have been avoided.
Agreed

He knows a good source when he finds it. You had some nice sized goldfish in that pond. Are there any fish left?
Yes, 7 fish left as of today.
