Thank you for making these, I've always had a blast playing with your builds. I think I might actually attempt my first unfair run once you've published all your updated companion builds
Just because I don't like horses in game, I usually sub (at least) a level of Beast Rider Cavalier. The way you describe is more "efficient" in that Seelah is better able to tank when she gets into combat, which is absolutely in your wheelhouse of builds with the highest numbers, but I tend to value mobility in my gameplay so this build is mostly just "some good jumping off points" for me. Thanks for continually inspiring creative gameplay :)
You can do a level in Sable Marine ranger to get a griffon instead. The flying attack will eventually start knocking multiple enemies prone which will make it easy to trigger AoOs.
Thanks for this - i think this is better. Mostly cause i couldn't stand a horse running around fighting without a rider. Go to level 3 in Pal first. Pickup improved unarmed strike at 2. Then take beast rider - you can take outflank as your tactian and lion order gives you +1 AC against one foe once a day (can use against boss). Crane style for feat. Then after that take the witch level. This is just to get to BAB 4 ASAP as you need that to take outflank as your cavalier tactic. At that point you are only down Boon companion, but because your pet is only down 1 level you really don't need it. Just pick up once you start on dragon disciple. So in the end you are down -2 reflex and will saves (which hurts a bit) and one feat in exchange for 1 higher pet level and most importantly not having horse.
Glad to see the GOAT back at work! I do love the early game builds, Ive found its super easy to get OP by act 3. But act 1 especially can be really tricky
I love these new powerful, character thematic, unfair viable builds. My dream of completing an Unfair Sadistic run with these builds story companions only without stacking vivisectionists/BFTs will come true.
excelent build man, never thought about archmage armor together with a heavy armor would work like that. awesome, thanks! waiting for the rest or the party members!
Final patch companion builds; love it! Looking forward to your future videos in this series. I would like to push something I saw from another comment; I think people would be really interested in a companion skald. I would love to see your take on that.
I love this. I look forward to the rest of the companions remade! I just started two new play throughs. One lich and one Azata. I am trying to use different character on each one.
You answered my unheard wish. I am wrapping up PF:KM and was planning to start WOTR in the coming week. I was to refer to your older companion builds, but now instead I will use the updated builds. Looking forward to other companion builds. Also could you make an updated video on the ideal party composition as well pls.
If you want to do a Tower Shield build DR stacking is the way to go rather than AC. Pure Tower Shield Specialist can get DR 42/- easily with Living Fortress, Impassable Guard, and the Mythic DR Feats. It actually a pretty dope build for Aeon or Lich.
The main issue is when I was testing it, even something like 35 or so DR wasn't cutting it on Unfair, as late game demons were still doing around 80 on normal strikes or even double on Crits.
@@cRPGBro Would something like the Lich's Vampire Blade be able to make up for the last bit of damage? Would be cool to have a truely immortal build with DR and Vampiric Blade.
For some reason, the armor enhancement bonus and the heavy armor focus bonus do not appear as seperate from the base armor bonus from the heavy armor my Seelah is wearing. Which means that Archmage armor overrides the full armor bonus since it's higher but I don't get the +5 armor enhancement bonus nor the +1 focus bonus anymore. I have a couple of mods installed but I checked all the options in them and nothing should influence this particular aspect. Is it just me or was it changed again in a recent patch ?
oh god, I just bought the game 2 months ago when playing Rogue Trader, now I started WOTR and you could not have found the better time for the updated guides!
I'm new into the cRPG world and thanks for your explanations, that helps me under the mechanics way better 👍🏼 I am playing the current version but building upon your previous builds from 2 years ago. Does it mean with the current version, those builds are not valid anymore? I'm currently at end of chapter 1 and thinking if I did it wrong for the long run
I think the Lame curse would be great for her. She's would already be slowed down by her armor, so the net speed is the same. At later levels she would gain immunity to fatigue, which is nice
Love your builds, a thing I would love which I think would also be in demand; would be a story companion as a skald . Even though it's not optimal in any way I think alot of people like to have story companions in the party.
It's really sad we don't have a Skald or at least a Bard party member. I guess it's just trickier to make a party member as Skald, because we don't get them from level 1, but it works for Seelah & Ember.
This build is great, and I also learned that multiclassing with Monk still stacks with other classes. I thought I saw somewhere that it wouldn't be possible anymore.
Thanks for this!!! I love Seelah and especially have always liked her in the classic armor tank role. I wish we had gotten a way to corrupt her towards the end of the game like Galfrey; another character for the Tyrant Antipaladin archetype, or perhaps even a Dread Vanguard. Do you do Kingmaker videos? That game is hella old now but I kinda want to revisit it someday
Didnt notice that mythic. Brownfur, enlarge, mutation is an outright 14 str and 7 ac if thqt works as half str to ac which plus armor bonus would really make plate viable alongside naked tanks.
I really like the idea of Dragon Disciple on Seelah and a witch dip for familiar and Iceplant is a great way to do it! Couple of questions: 1) Can another party member cast mage armor on Seelah to avoid un/reequiping her armour and shield? It's not clear if that's just to avoid spell failure or if mage armor only works if the target has no armour when cast. I definitely couldn't be arsed doing it. 2) How would you build her Horse if she's the tank? Your pet video's DPS build is designed for tripping pets. 3) Is shield bash any good for this? Seems to have feats to spare and could increase DPS. I'm excited for the new companions builds! Would love an ultimate party buffer companion build or a Magus (Sword Saint daggers?) Woljif build.
I'd love to see you make a skill monkey build at some point, a character who is great at as many skills as possible, while hopefully being decent and helpful in a fight.
Hello bro, i wanna say i am a big fan of your vids and the detail you go into. really helps me understand the game as a whole and get's me theory crafting on some builds of my own. i found out certain summon feats do work on undead summons and plan on doing a summon necromancer soon. btw will you be including all the alternate companions too? like the Undead and Azata? heck while I know it is short lived I would even like to see your optimized take on the through the ashes and lord of nothing companions. Sendri has a conflicting feat start o.o
Happening to me as well, the class says it gets bonus feats but then doesn't allow you to get access to them. My previous playthrough with this build still has the feat despite it coming from seemingly nowhere
Hey man I love your builds especially this recent wotr vids. Have you ever thought about doing alternate builds for companions that keeps the race and background but with different classes from level 1 with the respec mods? I think it would be fun to create thematic alternate builds
unrelated, but do you perhaps know how companion level scaling works, if it exists at all? like, if i play solo and pick up companions at a later date, how are they leveled?
There is an option in the difficulty tab to allow experience to be shared with any character that is not in the party with you or to have it only shared with active companions (those in the party). If you leave it off, which it is by default, then yes, companions will get experience with you and you can then level them up if you decide to use them. If you decide to have it on to get levels faster, then they won't level up with you and will stay their default recruitment level.
I don't understand how you're combining the archmage feat and the heavy armour feat. The avoidance feat clearly states that you need to be wearing the heavy armour to get the str bonus to AC, does that stay active even if you take off the heavy armour ?
Is there any reason not to dip Sellah into Sable Marine at level 5 for the hippogriff? Seems like a huge boon and all you trade in is a level of Paladin you weren't taking by the end anyway.
I've been messing with Lann as a winter child druid and found out that the ranged attack the blizzard elemental gets will trigger other natural attacks granted by a skald's rage. The initial ranged attack doesn't benefit from power attack but all of the free natural attacks do so I have been using power attack feats for it. If anyone is looking for an alternative to an old Lann staple.
How do you get the bloodline feat at lvl.15 where you pick power attack? That doesn't come for me, I only get the normal feat and the witch spell book continuation.
Good rework of Seelah The Tank. But I discovered something with "Mythic Armor Focus (Heavy Armor) - Avoidance". I neither get the half of the str bonus to my AC instead of dex, nor the heavy armor focus bonus when the heavy armor has the material type: Mithral. Is that a bug or some how intended?
Nvm my question. I found the answer in the description of Mithral. It always counts one category lighter than normal for limitations. Means in that case heavy armor counts as medium... But characters like my merc SCM, with medium armor proficiency can not wear those mithral heavy armor (as we know now, it counts as medium armor). very weird thats all. So is it a heavy armor now or medium armor, or is it an armor at all?! Noone really knows, not even the devs themself, it seems :P
If I wanted to squeeze in a level dip in another class to get a non-horse animal companion (beast master for example), what would you recommend dropping to make room for it?
Since you start with shield focus and are using heavy shields, would the new feats that let you get a free knockdown with shield bash be worth investing into?
The character is being respecced from end game to cover all 20 levels, and this takes in consideration some gear bonuses from late game gear. There's no difference level up wise, however, the build progression is the same.
Personally, I'd go for Sohei instead of traditional monk. You lose 2 will, but get an extra level on your pet and get them 4 levels early, which feels worth it, imo.
has anyone else noticed that the Transformation spell is OP when applied to full BAB characters? casting it on each of L20 full BAB characters causes their BAB to go from 20 to 30. is this new as of a recent patch? has it always been this way? and also... maybe guides for full BAB characters should mention this? (note: I have only noticed this after my BFT was at level 20. I'm not sure how transformation works if applied earlier on a full BAB character. but I will at that this definitely beats the 25 BAB you get from trickster / athletics.
You can get level 3 in the prologue if you use the "only active companions gain xp" option, just need to be careful to disable it before you recruit any of the companions in the prologue so that they share the same amount of experience. Doing this you get level 3 after doing a few battles in the maze.
Hope someone can answer this for me. I followed the guide exactly. Currently lvl 17 bit my horse is stuck at level 15. Is it bugged or did I do something wrong?

Weapon Focus, Dazzling Display & Shatter Defenses.

Since you start with shield focus and are using heavy shields, would the new feats that let you get a free knockdown with shield bash be worth investing into?

Is Owlcat making a season pass 3?
Doubt it. They need to focus on RT dlcs now
I think they haven't denied the possibility of more content for Wrath, even if they aren't working on a new PF game currently.
Hopefully you'd update other companions
Love your vids
why else is there a level 3 in the prologue? You only get it at the Defender's Heart Tavern
You can get level 3 in the prologue if you use the "only active companions gain xp" option, just need to be careful to disable it before you recruit any of the companions in the prologue so that they share the same amount of experience. Doing this you get level 3 after doing a few battles in the maze.
Is a kinecist a good class for unfair?
Kineticist can be very powerful, but it takes a while for it to get really good, usually around level 13+ once you get the Deadly Earth power.
@@cRPGBro I will like to go trickster mythic path for the instant kill and high critical chance do you think is a good idea?
Any chance for a pure Sorc blaster caster build which is NOT Lich? :) Pretty please!
Hope someone can answer this for me. I followed the guide exactly. Currently lvl 17 bit my horse is stuck at level 15. Is it bugged or did I do something wrong?
It is most likely just bugged. Sorry man.
