To all the people getting mad at AFI, in late 1998- early 1999 Roadrunner records (I think that's it) approached Davey and asked if he would be the new singer of The Misfit, And he was so humble, that he declined. So thanks to Davey Havok, the misfits still kinda exist. Yeah, take that.
FALSE!!! In 1998 and 1999 Michale Graves was the singer. It was not until after he left in late 2000 that someone at Roadrunner approached Davey and asked him.
@@tromatyzed Actually, for a little while in 1998, he wasn't. They did a tour that year in SA and Europe, and Graves refused to do an extensive tour outside the States so they got Myke Hideous to fill in (who, funnily enough, originally auditioned to be the new vocalist of the Misfits back in 94/95, but was just barely beat out by Graves)
His vocal style and range is super unique for this genre especially, stupid humble and beyond interactive with the audience, pays tons of homage to the bands that influenced him the most. 🔥
Man I love this lineup. Punk rock Jade and Hunter. It was so cool cuz they got that emo/goth creativity underlining their intense fucking punk rock. I love when punk rock bands step outside the box and these guys were so original and creative in the late 90s, wish they stayed that way

I didn't care for their most recent release, but they still have a great history as a band, and one subpar record does not ruin that!

Sounds like they didn't either. The Misfits was the first band my brother , and I agreed on... he liking more metal , heavy rock, and me more punk rock. Covers aren't meant to "beat" originals...they are tributes to great songs and bands. It is a good song, by many bands. I usually like originals better too. AFI also did a really good "Halloween" cover.
In the 70's THE RAMONES bring the genre actually known as -punk rock- to the scene and popularized it.
