My grandfather used to live at Monks Dale farm, Tideswell. My father as a National Servicemen (1947)got leave and was returning home got a lift in Macclesfield in one of the quarry 8 wheelers (4 axle) road trucks. He said it was the fastest he had ever been as the driver was sliding the corners over the Cat & Fiddle to Buxton. Well you can with 12 tyres on the ground. I always imagine Edale road as something out of Irish road racing but I do not recommend it, with people, tractors, horses, and other livestock a hazard in season.

A regular police patrol area as well as the the cameras, but still a good ride, Try the A54 Congleton to Buxton, nice hairpin bends just watch out for a bit of loose gravel!

Hi Vinny - the A54 is a road we know best - particularly challenging left, but especially followed by the right hairpin at the Rose and Crown at Allgrave onto the Flash road. Thanks for your comment.

Hi, I'm not sure if cameras are there yet as not been on that road for a while - next ride maybe. Thanks for your comment.
