Oregon City is about 12 miles from Portland. I'm glad to live in Oregon, half the restaurants have Secret Aardvark here and it's easy to find in grocery stores.
The reaper flavor caught me by surprise when I got it. I definitely underestimated how spicy it would. For sure going to be ordering some more for my taco nights.
I did a little reading up on what “spices” can be in terms of product labeling. One source had almost 100 different things that could be labeled under “spices”. I think you should do your own “spices” sauce just for fun. Just “peppers” “spices” vinegar. And call it something vague and snarky like “Peppers and Spices Sauce”. Then leave everyone guessing what’s in it.
@@brianambs I gotta be honest. I've only ever tried the "Original Hot Pepper Sauce" the one with the white label lol. It's my go to for everything. I think you'd appreciate that one for what it is. I remember seeing them on the shelf of your Jungle Jim's episode. That being said there are a ton of options. Check out their website. Or if anyone reading this has any recommendations, feel free to reply. Much love for what you do boss. I hadn't asked in a while so figured I'd try again lol. Keep up the great content.
Can I please have a good recommendation for a flavor bomb hot sauce pack (say, 3), habanero and up, not looking for just heat, I liked Bhutila Fire Hot Sauce a while back, lots of flavor there, doesn't have to be a verde like it but I mean something along the lines of
Not a bad sauce for a brand that’s so widely available, but they’re just too tomatoey for me. A good option for those who aren’t into vinegar based sauces or chunky superhot mash sauces.
i’ll betcha the reason the leave out spices they don’t want anyone copying the recipe. My thing is you can’t because of copy rights and you don’t know much of each ingredient.
Every recipe can be reverse engineered if you reallllllly wanted to. You just don’t need to list ingredients if the weight is small enough so, a lot of companies don’t. I just like to see it when they do.
Secret Aardvark is one of my favorite hot sauces! So good.
I need to check that chipotle one big time. They're such an underrated company, honestly. Their hab sauce is good on everything.
My wife loves that sauce.
