enjoyed watching. Just hit 38 hrs in VFR training. Have done all my training in a piper archer but finally flew a piper arrow 200 last weekend which was awesome. the bonanza is my dream to fly one day. thanks for posting.
Another great video of a great flight. Heck of a lot. Quicker than driving to Livermore. In other video liked Cooper resting his head on your shoulder. He appears to like flying.
Great video! I have to say that this isn't technically "VFR-on-top," though. You're literally flying VFR atop the clouds, but VFR-on-top is a type of IFR clearance in which the pilot is still on an active IFR flight plan. (Not canceled.)
Thanks Erik, I try to keep organized but it can get clumsy at times. I've been using ForeFlight for charts and I switch off between the writing desk on the crossover bar and the iPad being mounted there. For approaches I usually switch it out and place the iPad there so that I can see it easily.
Thanks for the kind words. To answer your question I typically flight plan for 166 knots TAS at 12.5 gph. It'll go faster, but with the additional fuel cost it isn't worth it.
Thanks. It is a great learning tool to video your own flights. Regarding the cruise speed I typically fly lean of peak burning 12.4 gallons per hour which gets me 166 to 168 knots depending on weight. The plane will go faster, but I can't make myself feed it to allow it to do so. (Check out my Mooney Impersonation video... The intent was to show the versatility of the Bonanza.)
Bryan-- Help me out with the flight plan--you're going Reid-Hillview to Livermore, but... At ~ 4 minutes the controller gives you your flight plan. Turn heading 290 (OK), V334 to Sunol (OK), but then he says V195 to Manteca (not OK). Not understanding...you need to keep going north from Sunol to get to Livermore, but V195 takes you east... Help!! Cool video nonetheless!
Hi Hazel, The leg on V195 to Manteca more or less sets up for an instrument approach into Livermore. I think this route in its entirety is actually a TEC route, and is about the only thing cleared for this flight. ATC will provide vectors typically out in the Tracy area to get the flight turned inbound and set up to intercept the instrument approach skipping Manteca.
most likely thats the IFR route they have available for him to fly to that airport...not every IFR route gives takes you directly to that destination... it could be also that they may had certain flow restrictions because of the weather... but most likely its their normal IFR route there
Hey Dan, how the heck are you? These videos must be boring for you eh....For anybody who stumbles onto this Dan got his S35 Bonanza and instrument rating before I did. I just followed his breadcrumbs to the good life.....
Good to hear from you Bryan. My S35 is starting a little hard so I was looking for a Bonanza starting to see how long it took and ran across you video. Funny
Very nice. You make it look easy. Very well produced! Thanks.
I love watching IFR flights! it's so neat. Added this to my favorites!

Great video and a great aircraft. Thank you for posting...I enjoyed the "ride along." :)
Peace.
Nicely done!
Awesome job, you clearly stay proficient
I like how your yokes make a nice kneeboard area!

wow, this is awesome
Well done!
I really enjoy your videos! I fly a V35A. I would love to see a video on your LOP procedures...
Keep them coming, Travis
Very Nice Landing On Center Line.
Very nice videos! I just sold my Mooney E for something bigger and faster, and you got me looking into a S35 or maybe a V35A/B... More videos please!
Very cool.

Love all your videos!!! Are you going to plan a trip to Oshkosh this year??
great video. Thanks for sharing man. Whats your cruise speed?

Thanks. Sadly no Osh for us this year.
I'm using a GoPro Hero 2 facing towards the inside and utilizing the external mic intput. The camera facing forward is a an earlier Hero.
Love the video! ...what software are you using to edit your clips?
good pilot
What are the cameras you're using? The rear facing one has a very wide angle and great view.

Hazel do you fly out of RHV? You're cute and if you have any IFR questions or need a safety pilot I can help you out.
You remind me of a United mechanic I used to know but he was better looking.
