- Today I'm sharing with you one simple guitar trick to make playing Dire Straits' Money For Nothing a heck of a lot easier - and in my opinion more satisfying!

Careful, careful……..you might get blister on your little finger, you might get a blister on your thumb!
Thanks for making this song accessible us common folk!
I wish guitar teachers would show more tricks like this. Thanks
cheers friend.
I guess this could be classified as a campfire version, since in the real song, it's the bass guitar that fills in all that low end so beautifully. So this is a great way to simulate that rhythmic heartbeat of the song with just one guitar. Great job brother.
This is so awsome!! People love this song but I’m not as good enough to play the Dire Straits but I love the song and thanks to you I think I can pull it off!! You’re the best!! Thank you thank you thank you!,😊
Thanks so much Ryan!
Fantastic. I’ve been trying to learn this song over the last few weeks but the finger plucking has me going insane!! Now I can play it with a pick. Absolute revelation!! Thanks Ryan. Great video as always.
That’s what I’m talking about - I’m allergic to finger plucking!
So much easier, and sounds great! Can’t wait to try it out.
Hi Ryan! Thank you for your lessons, they're gold! You always bring me new ideas.
What about Fugazis Waiting Room?
I think it would fit to your channel.
Have a nice softball sunday 😉
This is great Ryan, bringing the impossible to the commoners! Thanks!!
Hey Ryan I just want to say thank you for all the work you do and content you create! I really enjoy the videos and the Kermit’s and dry jokes…just all around eggtastic man
Cheers to you Mike!
Hi ,thank you for all the lessons over the 2 years I've been playing guitar and explaining it in a very easy and simple way, I would like to see more campfire versions of Nirvana cause I'm a huge fan.
Just think when this song came out was when they just started making big screen TVs. Those things were more heavy than the refrigerators.
I remember being 5 years old playing super Mario on my best friend Stephanie’s big screen TV. Magical times.
And they played the guitar on the mtv
Hey Ryan, fantastic lesson! Could you maybe consider making a lesson on Makeout party by Green Day next please.
4:10 Super, Ryan!!! Thanks!
cheers mcflash!
So damn good.
Awesome 🙌
sankyoo!
@@RyanLendt no..fank uwe!
Can you do a lesson on the Alarm “Strength”?
Lovely stuff, brings a real Stones vibe to the song.
I was thinking the same thing. Jumping jack flash gets his money for nothing
Man you're exactly right
Dude I don’t know if it’s the key or the absolute Robin Hood arrow perfect tone, but while you were playing Money for Nothing, all I could hear was Witchy Woman; particularly during the pull off discussion.
Thanks for this! I’m struggling with how to play this AND sing it? Do I play these while I sing? It’s very difficult to do both? Or do I strum chords while I sing?
Now you are giving me ideas for my 7-string lol a prog death metal version of this great riff
Yes!
Cool
cheers
Did you know Sting co-wrote this tune and does backing vocal harmonies?
Also, do you know any tricks for Sultans of Swing?
only because there's a video on youtube where sting is doing just that. I did a campfire version I believe, but I don't know if that'll satisfy your thirst.
That drags my mind to the beavis and butthead intro
wtf are the chances I search for dire straits lessons and this came out 2 hours before.
Fate
Jumping jack,flashing for money?
I was just rewriting the lyrics for this yesterday. I'm calling it "Nothing for Money" it's about buying stock in Truth Social.
haha i have almost made a few such jokes over the past couple of months but decided it was way too far down the rabbit hole for anyone to latch on to - thank you for sharing in the joy :)
nice cheat, and a fun tuning to mess around with.
Great lesson, but teaching Knopfler while playing with a pick is heresy.
I believe the term is sacrilege
@@RyanLendt Okay. Now you’re brining Steve Earle into this conversation. 😂. That’s why I watch your channel. The witty remarks. Keep on keeping on my friend🤘
