Can early time restricted eating help with weight loss?

    Reallly useful information. Thank you . I have been trying to lose weight and have been restricting eating hours between late am and early pm. Not always successfully! But have found when I do I loose weight and feel well. It’s encouraging to have this confirmed as a good method !

    It helped me stop binge snacking after dinner when i stop eating by 630pm

    I don't get why most people fasting choose to skip early eating while allowing themselves to eat late. Somehow waiting until as late as possible to start a fast has been the advice from most fasting doc's. I'm sure most lose weight and get in better health regardless of timing which is a good thing.

      For me, it seems s so much easier to not eat while I’m busy during the day. The night is slower and leaves more time for cravings.

      Yes, there is very well designed research to back it up. However, it is a bit difficult to do.

      I have done the protocol multiple times and honestly Professor Longo never intended it to be a weight loss diet. It’s really unfair that the company that took over the production of the food plan markets it that way, but people are actually more interested in weight loss than they are in their health. I was one of them! It was only when I decided I needed to work on my eating, because of my mental health and then eventually my physical health that I was actually able to make the changes I needed to, and lost and kept off 45 pounds for nine years now. Later I went to a more plant-based diet and found that my blood sugar was rising over a period of a year and a half. I actually did the Prolon product three months in a row as is recommended and it did not bring my blood sugar down. I was very disappointed because I really admire Dr. Longo. I guess I was one of the exceptions. I am trying to re-introduced longer fast in my life. I started in 2016 experimenting with different protocols and honestly I never liked any of them but I’m older now and there are some advantages so I am looking on RUclips to get inspiration.

    Does anyone know if Okinawan's lifestyle is like early TRE because I don't.

      TRE was followed by most cultures without understanding what they were doing. Our ancestors weren't eating 14-16 hours per day. Some interesting papers on eating styles or our ancestors
