    Alright, looking at getting one. The reviews on Orvis are basically all saying the tippet clip is cheap and breaks too easy. Would you say the same or do we have some wreckit ralphs leaving reviews?

      Thank you for your comment. I have not found that to be the case. It is held in by the bungee cord, so it's fairly easy to remove. That said, if you have any issues, I am certain that Orvis would assist you with any manufacturing defects, etc.

    Do you think you could make the water bottle sleeve work for a collapsible wading staff instead?

    • @flyfishingoutdoorsman
      @flyfishingoutdoorsman 3 месяца назад +2

      It's possible, depending on how much the staff breaks down. The bungee cord should keep it in place as well.

    I just picked up this sling and am looking forward to getting it loaded up. Great review. On another note - I've been thinking about giving that Jerky Chew a try. How do you like that stuff?

      Thank you! I like it, especially while fishing. Generally it's thinly-shredded and easier to eat than a regular beef jerky stick. Hope you enjoy it!

    Nice review! Does it hurt your shoulder when fully loaded and fishing for a day? Is the strap comfortable?

    • @flyfishingoutdoorsman
      @flyfishingoutdoorsman 2 года назад +6

      Thank you! I found that when I have it fully loaded that because of the padded strap, and the width of the strap, it doesn't hurt as much as other sling bags. The retaining strap does help keep things in place to guard against improper wear. Now that said, if one were to really fill the bag with heavy items (e.g., multiple bottles of water), it could start hurting after a while.

    Hi, nice review on the guide sling bag. I’m kind of new at fly fishing and was looking at Orvis middle size sling bag ( the size below yours) and noticed it don’t have a net holder.
    The net I’m looking at is by Fishpond the Nomad mid size net. The measurements are 37” Length
    Weight with rubber bag: 453g or 1lb
    13”W x 18”L Head
    Bag depth of 12". In your opinion what are your thoughts on that net with the guild sling bag??? All feed back is welcomed. Thank you!

      Glad it was helpful! The net pocket opening on the bag measures approximately 10 inches. The net I use has an 8 inch handle and is approximately 25 inches long by 10.5 inches wide. If you choose a net with a longer handle, it will come out at the bottom of the bag, and it may make it harder for your to retrieve it when landing a fish. If you choose a net that is too wide, the bag will struggle to keep the net secured. This may not become an issue until you rotate the bag from your back to in front of you. Based on the measurements of the net you are looking at, I would suggest a smaller net. There are numerous nets on Amazon that should fit. When in doubt, visit your local fly shop with your bag to try them out. Hope this helps!

    I just feel like that front pocket should drop down for a work station. What do you think?

      When the bag is moved to the forward position - there is a bit of a workspace, but that workspace is essentially the pocket opening. It has helped when I accidentally drop something.

    I want to see someone remove and replace the net while wearing it. I have this bag and the bugout bag and can't put net back after removing it while wearing

    • @flyfishingoutdoorsman

      It does take some body contortion to get the net into the opening so that it doesn't fall out. It can be helpful to swing the pack forward rather than keeping it on your back when replacing the net.

      I just use net holder for longer walks to stream. Once there I remove it and use a gear keeper retractor.

    Nice review, but why the music when you are trying to explain something? Rather distracting and all too common on RUclips.

    • @flyfishingoutdoorsman

      Thank you for your comment! I will make note of that for my next video. I added in music to help cover up background noises - in this case it was other people in the park.

      @@flyfishingoutdoorsman Thank you for taking the time to reply. That is a very logical explanation for the music. I have seen some videos where the music all but drowned out the speaker!! Makes no sense.

      I like the music. sets the tone for video, not a lot of craziness like other videos.
