Haven't thought of this in ages, and your vid brought all the feels flooding back; it used to be my favourite show ever but I was so disappointed by the ending (I thought at least half the show Arthur should have known about merlin's magic, he basically just turned into a tyrant like his father) - beautifully edited, just makes me want to revisit it all!
I totally agree that Arthur should have known about Merlin earlier, at least somewhere in season 4 or the beginning of season 5. It would be so interesting to see their interaction under the light of this revelation. The ending was awful though. Arthur was the prince that was supposed to change Camelot and instead they just killed him of. So stupid and unfair. To be honest I disagree that Arthur became a tyrant like Uther. He had a really good heart and didn't started to execute anyone with magic like his father. He was always the better man. Anyway, thank you so much for your words!

It would have taken the Arthur/ Merlin relationship in really interesting directions, and I always hated how almost every magical person other than Merlin and Morgana died, they could have made a Justice League-style group of magic people protecting Camelot... And you're right I may have gone a little strong with the tyrant line, from what I can remember Arthur wasn't particularly tolerant of magic but not as bloodthirsty as his father, he was more passive - and I always thought Merlin should have 'come out' to him about his magic and Arthur would have to make a tough decision, Merlin may have had to flee but eventually Arthur could pardon him and he would be the sign for a new age of tolerance for magic in Camelot... XD
+Shieldmaiden 17 I totally agree with everything you said! Morgana could also play that role for Arthur. They grew up together and he loved her very much. If she tried to explain to Arthur instead of using her powers to destroy him, he would totally change his mind about magic.

You are so right, the Morgana angle would have been amazing because as much as I love the Merlin/ Arthur friendship, Arthur has in all fairness known Morgana much longer, and may have been swayed by her words even than Merlin's! If only that last season had been how we envisaged, but at least that version exists in our heads! :D xx
