Wow i forgot about the early 2000's BP points. My sister used to work in a BP garage around 2004. So would clear £400-500 in BP Argos points every month from customers that did not collect their points. She kitted out her first flat with around £6k's worth of kit from Argos !. All of the cashier staff were doing the same, it was some perk !.
Back in the day old old top gear would advertise the magazine right after each program but with a disclaimer below saying 'other motoring magazines are available'. The BBC used to do this for all sorts of programs and there associated magazines. Gardeners World magazine would be advertised with 'Other gardening magazines are available' and Robot Wars magazine would weirdly say 'Other teenage magazines are available'. This practice happens in Bristol to this day. CMTMB.
Ah, the old top gear front row ladies. In my shared house at the time this was often the standard used to define whether or not a young lady was worthy of ones attention. "We got a new girl in the office at work today" "oh nice. Would she make it to the front row on top gear?"
Botswanna special is missing from Iplayer. I suspect because Amazon bought rights to show clips of it in the last Grand Tour episode. Shame as it's worth a re-watch.
Good morning, may I suggest Jonny’s latest side project where he gets everyone’s favourite 80’s singer to complete in banger racing using some particularly poor condition, very softly sprung off-roaders. The working title is “Sade, Rattle, and Roll”
On the subject of top gear mag , our mate at work in the river dealership I worked at in the 90s sold a an avenger estate for 50 quid to the mag for a piece on bangernomics he said the staffer tried to get money off for a noisey wheel bearing he was mentioned in the article and brought the copy into the office , I was offered. Cars from home cheap as well including a mk1 Astra a blokes girlfriend had destroyed with stiletto heels after she caught him cheating or an escort we found as a trade in on the roof it was 75 quid with nothing needed for mot except an indicator bulb and bumper end cap ..

I have a running argument with a mate as to whether a Disco 3 or 4 is better. It's 4, obvs.
Practically speaking they’re the same, the 4 is just a little bit better in nearly every way
