My old man was the hardest geezer I ever met and I used to travel all over with west ham in the 70s, he was born in Ireland in 1919, was orphaned at 3, fended for himself from the age of 12, raised and schooled five kids in England, two teachers, three tradesmen, sponsored an African child to be educated and trained as a doctor and never broke the law or had a fight in his life, respect these old guys though, tough men, all about perspective.

10 years in the prison system in the 60s and 70s then started fighting in his late 30s (mid 40s his last fight) the punches he took from Lenny in the 3rd fight would of killed a lot of men. Roy was a genuine tough guy. But you get tough guys (and gals for that matter) the world over. Doesn’t have to be fighting tough. There’s different kinds of toughness/resilience.👊🏻👍

Love Freddy Foreman even though he was a bad bad boy xx. Not sure Hero Worshipping is appropriate, all up there on a platform.
