Apologies everyone! This video was supposed to be posted last Saturday but I accidentally scheduled it for today. Just means double the uploads this week 😆
I started to see a pattern during the starting one as you went through it. Every possible number that you can pick when multiplied and added makes 9. So the only possible letter would be D as every answer becomes 4 when subtracted by 5. Denmark is the only European country that starts with D. The ending part is where you can try to break the system made with some other animal with the letter E from Denmark.
I had Deutchland and then remembered that wasn't the actual name, then I forgot the name for echidna (I just knew that knuckles was it) and gave up and thought elephant. If I were smarter I would've been great.
6:04 You read my mind there lmao Icl, by trick 2 I was using x instead of a number. Takes the fun out of the trick but easily shows what's going on but already knew what was going on with the first one anyway
I vaguely remember doing the first one years back in school so I tried hard to not to get the result without forcing myself to think much… yep still got the same answer 😂
About the grey elephant. The fact that both digits of a number that is a result of multiplying 2-10 by 9 is how i learned multiplying by 9. I even created by own formula when i was little: x=Any number between 2-10. First digit equals x-1. The second one equals 9-(x-1). The rest of the multiplying board up to 10 i just memorised. So I accidentally avoided learning multiplying as long as i could.
It's not just 2-10 by the way, it's _every multiple of 9._ It's a cheap and dirty way to tell if any number you have is divisible by 9, if the sum of its digits (what's called the "digital sum") is 9 or itself a multiple of 9. So 99 is divisible by 9 because the digital sum of 99 is 9+9=18 (which is divisible by 9 because the digital sum of _that_ is 9). And without even checking, you can know with confidence that 3411 is divisible by 9, without even needing to know what the other factor is, because 3+4+1+1=9. (It's 379 FWIW.) The same rule applies for 3, and there are other clever rules for other numbers like 4, 7, and 11.
@@mrsqueaksrules @mrsqueaksrules yeah, i learned about the thing you're talking about few years later. But the way I explained it above is just the way it got stuck in my head when i was little. I much preferred creating my own ways to solve problems than using the ones that were taught in school haha
The first one mathematically was making sense when you did the multiple 9 added together they all equal 9, i couldn't think of any other country besides denmark that it cpuld have been, and then miraculously the forst two animals i thought of was an emu and an eagle
Omgoodness I am a first time viewer here tonight and I’ve not been well doing in the math arena of my existence. lol. But this was really amazing video for me. I enjoyed this video very much. The weird thing is I actually just bought a new calculator this evening for my children’s schoolwork. I can tell you that I have never imagined myself going to bed with a calculator of all things but here we are. lol. 😊ready to learn some cool things and get some good sleep as well. 😊
I will use these one day as substitude teacher😂 this is going to be fun! First convince them, that I know magic mind reading and after that showing that math can be fun
As a Portuguese man, the first trick i had an advantage, i said "Dinamarca" instead of Denmark, iguana and "Rosa", wich means Pink. You are welcome for the free Portuguese class.
Fun fact, the trick I know (and maybe it's because I'm in the US?) ends in Denmark, Kangaroo, Orange, because you take the last letter of each word, and get to the next one that way
Is Jojo ASMR one of your inspirations? Because everything from the way you talk and the words you use remind me of his card magic videos. Which means this video slaps
I’m finnish and i learned this trick to multiply by nine. You want to calculate x*9 right? So you spread your 10 (hopefully) fingers out and count to x in fingers from left to right. Close the xth finger. The amount of fingers still up on the left is the first digit of x*9 and the amount on the right is the second digit of x*9. So, for example 5*9: I I I I x I I I I I =45
Its been a while since ive done algebra, but it makes sense they're just an equation that always works out to a particular number no matter what you plug into it😂
as someone who speaks spanish, i thought about "dinamarca" instead of denmark since i didn't know its name in english. so i ended up thinking about a green iguana from dinamarca. nice try though haha
Brown eagle and denmark is the only country in europ that starts with d and you can only get d because every number you get by multiplying 9 with a number 1-10 and adding their digits will equal 9
The first one i like because any basic multiple of 9, the numbers added all equal 9(63=9 72=9). From there on he will be right nomatter what he says to do
Apologies everyone! This video was supposed to be posted last Saturday but I accidentally scheduled it for today. Just means double the uploads this week 😆
I got fooled, but not my friend, he thought of his favorite animal, the Emperor Penguin
What if it's Deutschland or Dutchland instead of Denmark, what if i think of Eagle instead of Elephant
Wow ok
Ok
7:22 "x times x or 2x" Woopsies!

It was fun trying to find out the system before you went through it lol.
i picked an eagle 😂
Dominican Republic orangutan :/
I picked deutschland and elk
there’s also Djibouti tho
Finished my GCSEs a couple months ago and it’s definitely nicer to watch maths now that I don’t have worry about understanding it!
@@frosttaco3540I doubt that was the point. Moreso that he had an easier time enjoying it without the pressure
Wow, what a fun math brain teaser video. This was lots of fun and tingly!
Thank you!
Love your videos but I already figured out the math by “multiply with nine” 😅 I’d love to see a trickier one!!
I figured it out when adding the digits together because of course it would always be nine
@@almar456 exactly!

i chose the eagle cause i knew this trick but well done
I just didn't know any other animal with E 😂
4:05 not the mosquito casually flying😂

Yeah! I encourage that in the video. If you start using x you’re really understanding the tricks, so I love that! Good job

Brown Eagle from Denmark
@@arrognzyou’re right I could also said Eagle instead of elephant which is pretty basic
i got lion from albania uh did i do this right

Think of any number it doesn't matter what number because we'll remove it anyway and you'll basically be playing with the numbers I choose
I went 7 6+3=9 , 9-5=4 , 4=d , d=Denmark, E=eagle , eagles = dark brown
